It's one of the absolute best parts of this job as far as I am concerned. I get to relax, spend time with my family and recharge my batteries. 19 more days for me. Can't wait!

100% agree with what @100kids said! Besides, if I really felt like I was going to be at loose ends over the summer, I could work summer school or apply to work at a camp.

I love having the summer off with my kids. My district spreads my pay out over 12 months, so I get a full pay over the summer.
