So, who is working tomorrow?

Published

I am! That makes Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years! So much for he rotating holidays. Anyway, I am ok with it. Who else is working?

I'm working. Don't want to, but I guess I have to. Would be more pleasurable if I was getting at double time pay...or at least time and a half. Honestly, who works Christmas for no extra pay?!!??!
must work where i do. if not scheduled i will ask for ot on those days

Yep, working. My unit will be bringing food and we have a small menu planned. Also we will be finishing up secret santa. We do bring food for each other almost quarterly and sometimes more often. For home I had the eve off so we had christmas breakfast and it's nice. Lunch will be brownies and coffee. Weeee! Coffee right before work, by tomorrow AM I will be so ready for sleep.

I'm here this morning.Merry Christmas!

Specializes in geriatrics.

I volunteered for xmas eve and xmas day. I could care less about sitting with family. I'd rather give others the days off and make the money.

I'm happy to work - 12 hours of triple time!

Specializes in Labor & Delivery, Med-surg.

I volunteered to work Christmas Day at triple time one year but there was NO staff so I worked like a dog and it was NOT worth it!

Specializes in Med/Surge, Psych, LTC, Home Health.

I worked last night 11p-7a, made it home just in time to watch the kids open presents, then sent the family to the in laws, and I am getting ready to get some sleep. I work tonight also. I worked Halloween, Thanksgiving, and I'm working NYE. I didn't volunteer for any of it; we were told that there would not be any changing of the schedule; if the holidays fell on your regular scheduled days, you would be working. Just so happens that the holidays this year all went RIGHT along with my schedule!

That policy stinks this time of year because Christmas and New years are always the same day. Are you off on Saturday for the Big Game or New Years for the Sugar Bowl?

Specializes in PDN; Burn; Phone triage.

I'll probably be floating to another unit.

I wish I wasn't. My MIL was literally just diagnosed with terminal brain cancer two days ago. She might have a few months left with palliative chemo/radiation. My husband flew up to be with his family. I'm working the next three in a row. Blargghh. :(

Tomorrow has turned into today and I'm getting ready to go spend the 3 - 11 shift with my LTC family. Merry Christmas everyone. Now here's your insulin. I can't imagine a better way to spend a holiday.

I am working on Christmas, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day.... does not bother me at all as others in my group have families and can spend time with them.

Specializes in Pediatric Cardiology.

On my way in to work 7p-7a. I am glad I could at least spend the day with family. I had Thanksgiving off, working New Year's. I went into nursing knowing I would work holidays so I am fine with it.
