Heh. The residents loved it. LOVED it. And I felt quite -- polished.
The other nurses said that if they had to wear them they'd quit.

Whoo-Hoo!
Told you so! Careful now, you may find yourself digging that cap out more than once a year!

LOL! good for you! I used to like to wear a white scrub dress and white hose now and then to shake things up.
I dance around the unit and crack my residents up. One said today, "It's the dancing nurse and she isn't dancing!" I answered, "If I dance my cap falls off!" and proceeded to prove it.
I need to find one that fits better, though. Or sew a loop on the front.

Now you understand where others are coming from who can't stand the things!
Rather difficult to get through one's shift having to move your head like something out of "Thunderbirds".

I bet you looked adorable. Glad the residents got a kick out of it. I'm M/S and my unit decided to wear white this week and a few wore caps. A bunch of us wore white skirts or dresses. We weren't told we had to but wanted to see how it was received by patients and the feedback was excellent. The patients loved it and commented how nice it was to know who the nurses were. I can see their point. I wouldn't mind seeing it changed to whites and the nurses all liked it which surprised me. It was nice that we stood out and it was appreciated.

I can imagine it would bite if I were in emergency or something. But realistically, I'm the unit manager/MDS nurse in an LTC.
It was only a problem when I danced.
Batman, people really respond positively to the iconic nurse image. And the cap seems to cap it.

That is cool, wearing your cap. I think the nurse cap is very symbolic .

Nurses Week is next week up here. The cap is in the box. The hair pins are painted white. There is a $25 bet riding on this. Hey, $25 will pay for unit coffee and I mean to do it. The cap will be in the car and ready to go on Monday.
Actually, it starts here this Thursday for some bizarre reason.
I'm wearing whites tomorrow - I do everyday - but neat cargo pants. But I think I'm going to wear my cap anyway. It pleased me.
I was in a dress today, too, but I passed on the white hose. The a/c isn't on yet and it's been humid here.
It was really fun to see how happy the residents were to see me in whites. We have one elderly woman with MR that puts her at around a developmental age of five. She kept hugging me and telling me I was a real nurse and a pretty nurse. So sweet. And it was touching.
There has to be some sort of a cap that actually fits without stapling it to one's head.

How exciting! I bought a cap (along with several of my classmates) to wear with a tassel to graduation this Friday (instead of a mortarboard). :redbeathe

The "bizarre reason" is that Nurses' Week in the US every year is 6 May to 12 May, because the 12th is Flo's birthday. Back when it was Nurses' Day, it was the 12th, and then it got expanded (why????) into a full week.
Congrats on the cap! Keep up the good work ...
