So I Wore my Cap Today

Published

Heh. The residents loved it. LOVED it. And I felt quite -- polished.

The other nurses said that if they had to wear them they'd quit.

:lol2:

:yeah:

There has to be some sort of a cap that actually fits without stapling it to one's head.

:yeah:

Actually, it starts here this Thursday for some bizarre reason.

.

Nurses week is always from May 6 - 12, which is Flo's birthday, but the hospitals don't like to split up the week.

I was thinking Crazy Glue. Or I could just point a large Primapore and slap it on.

You need to determine where/how the cap is supposed to sit upon your head. Once that part is settled, place cap on head, hold down front with one hand (using various tricks already mentioned elsewhere), and (bobby) pin into place.

It really does help if one has "big hair", bun or some sort of fullness for most caps, this gives the pins something to anchor to besides your scalp. :D

DGTG, the cap I have has no way to anchor the front so it flies up like a bad toupee.

my very helpful mother suggested either carpet tacks or a couple tenpenny nails to keep my cap anchored and on my head.:D

Ooooh! Oooooh! Oooooh! That's my cap, in the lower left corner!!!! I've never seen it anywhere but in connection with my school! (Never in any sort of generic "nurse's cap" photo ...)

The origami cap!

The origami cap!

Much worse than that -- the shape is supposed to symbolize the dove of peace (gag me!!! :D)) I always enjoyed stirring up the instructors (at my v. strict diploma school) by referring to it as a "duck's a$$." (I have to give them credit -- they put up with a lot from me during the three years I was there, and they were always v. gracious and tolerant about it. :))

We never had hats... just bright blueberry colored scrubs.

I do wear my school pin on occasion though...
