I was actually arguing on Skype with a few family members about this they are Lawyers, Engineers, and Accountants. First they thanked me for my service but then they were like they should have a dedicated week for Accountants, and Lawyers. I think through this pandemic they are getting jealous because healthcare workers are getting so much attention. I am not eager for the attention, in fact as a new Nurse, I just want to learn and get better everyday.

International Accounting Day is Nov 10. Law Day is celebrated May 1 in the US. National Engineers Week is in Feb over George Washington's birthday, Feb 22. Tell them it's up to them to advertise it, and to quit being such babies.

Yes, ignore them.
I am not even a fan of nurses week. Whatever nurses do get it is usually never good enough. Then when it is not celebrated, people complain. After awhile it is just annoying.
sigh..... I'm tired. Can you tell?

Tell them they can have the bag of 5 Hershey's Kisses I got for Nurses' Week. Will that make them feel better? Big whiners.
And please, show them this thread. I'm embarrassed for them.

Yup. Lawyers week. That is going to go well for them.
As a professional, I am not a fan of nurses week. Little trinkets and treats aren't my thing, and I don't think that the whole thing helps our professional image. But, a lot of nurses really like it, so I have no real problem with it.
No- don't argue with them. First off, lawyers are professional arguers. And, if they want to have ice cream socials for a week, there is no law against it. Which they already know, as they are lawyers.

Then they should do what the ANA did and create their own.

They advertised that we were supposed to get cookies and we never got them.
I didn’t get anything this year. My NM said, “at least you didn’t get COVID!” Touché.

We got cookies. A hot/cold pack (microwave of freeze) with corp logo. And Starbux is in-house, so free coffee this Monday and Friday. Only till 7, so night-shifters better hurry!Kinda like men ask about "Men's Day" on international Women's Day. As if they don't have their own (Nov 19)....

Yet.
OP, what exactly is it they're jealous of? Your diamond bracelet? Your new car? Your mug with a hospital logo?

The whole concept is patronizing.
Grown-up professionals should act...grown-up.
