Sharp New Grad Residency Winter 2010/2011

Hi everyone,

I just applied to Sharp's New Grad Residency Winter 2010/2011. *Fingers, Toes, and Eyes crossed that we get interviews* :clown:

Just wondering if anyone else had some trouble with the online application process. I completed the online application, and SAVED it; however, I noticed that if I wanted to review my entries by clicking on "Online Application," all entries were blank. I also wish that we could view uploaded documents (cover letters and transcript) just so I know that they really do have it on file.

Anyway, I look forward to hearing about any progress with this residency.

I, like the rest of you, really hope that my supplemental form was received... would prefer not to have to rewrite those again :)

Hi,

I just finished my application too. Regarding the Supplemntal info...that was the link we had to click list our top 2 choices and fill out the questions? That is automatically send to sharp..right? I am also worried it didn't get there. I am awaiting confirmation that my portfolio is complete. NurseLeslie...you were lucky someone even emailed you back. I got through to a recruiter to-day and was told she could not check my application because of the high volume of applications and to wait for the email...fingers crossed!

I was worried about them not getting my supplemental info too...I checked my spam mail and found email from them saying that my porfolio was complete....Hoping for a chance to interview!!!:)))))))...PLS!!

I just replied to the email from "Students Workforce" that was confirming my application. When you reply, it goes to "[email protected]." Maybe try that? They replied promptly, knew who I was & exact details about what they had & had not received.

Im trying to upload my transcripts but it wont let me coz its pdf format im wondering if any of u was able to upload it with that kind of format, please help me out, thanks!

I didn't get a confirmation that I did the supplemental info either. I just got an email when I had all my documents uploaded and app. filled out. So don't worry!

Thanks for the response RNwannabeLA. Just now, I just checked my spam email and got a confirmation email that they received my portfolio. ^_^ That's one worry off my list. Next will be the wait. Good luck to you!! Good luck to everyone as well!!

Hello everyone and good luck!

I'm a current student that's going to be graduating in May. It would be fantastic if those of you who do get the position post your degree (e.g. BSN) and if you have any current work history in healthcare. I ask this because I currently work there myself, but I'm graduating with an ADN. So I'm quite certain I don't have much of chance. Thanks so much!!! And congrats for almost being done! I can't wait!

Hello all, I just passed my NCLEX on the 6th on this month and am now looking for a job. I am going to get my BSN when I graduate from National University in February. I also work at Sharp. I know of about 5-6 people off the top of my head who are also in the same boat. (BSN, RN License, Sharp Employee). Some of them have been at this job search bussiness for over a year! But I am STILL hopeful that I will win the "Lottery" and get a call back. However when I look at my recent activity on the Sharp website, it doesn't show that I have even applied for it...yet I got a confirmation that they recieved my portfolio.

Also I heard up on the floor that a few of the NA's up there already got call backs. I know of one girl who started the new grad program for Mary Birch last week. But their applications were in August. I never even heard of it. All three girls already worked on the floor at MBH. I also know of 3 other poeple in my class who got jobs, all Scrips all internal hires into the New Grad Program that I never heard about. That is all the people I know of who have gotten jobs in my cohort. Four. Four out of 40 of us. That is 10% of us with jobs. And 100% of us in debt.

This is so crazy, when I started my Nursing Prereq's I remember everyone going on and on about the nursing shortage, and hiring bosnuses and gettting job offeres before they graduated or at their graduation ceremonies...wow...the way things are now..I can't even imagine that....

I recieved a phone call today at about 5:45pm extending me a phone interview for friday afternoon for the adult health unit at sharp memorial. does anyone know exactly the adult health unit is? i'm assuming its like med surg?

Thats so great you got a call back for a phone interview already...that was really fast!! I wish you the best of luck. I'm thinking adult health is like a Med Surg unit, but not entirely sure! Keep all of us posted on how the interview goes!
