  1. Anyone hear back from UCSD regarding these positions? Hopefully you guys recieved good news!!!!!!! *Fingers Crossed*
  2. Looks like the posting for the Perinatal CN II is back up, they have it posted again with the deadline of 12/15/12. Maybe they didn't find what they were looking for first time around. Maybe we still have a chance? Hmm.... guess we will have to wait and see!
  3. Hi Nurse Mando Commando, Thanks for the quick reply! Ya, I was kinda bummed I wasn't able to score an interview. I had contacted HR today and they said they already finished doing their interviews. I actually applied for the Perinatal CN II position since I already have experience as an RN. I worked at a SNF for 10 months right after nursing school, then was fortunate enough to land the Postpartum New grad job for Sharp and have been working there for 1 1/2 years now. I definitely love it, but am VERY interested in getting into the NICU. When I saw the posting for the Perinatal program, I thought it would be an awesome opportunity! Wow, your credentials are very good! I'm hoping you get the position! Advice as a current nurse, take any experience you can get. Although I did not want to work at a SNF, I just took it and eventhough it was SUPER stressful and was diorganized, I gained a lot of valuable experience from it, looking back. Also, Network if you can! When I took the Regional Perinatal Class, I met one of the Clinical Nurse Specialist speakers after class just to talk to her and get her advice for job hunting. It was a blessing in disguise cause she was able to help me get the new grad job! Please keep us posted on your status for this position! Wish you the best of luck!
  4. @NurseMandoComando: That is soooo awesome you scored an interview for this program! My application was referred to the hiring department but I never got a call for an interview. Just wondering what your background is? I would have LOVED to do the postpartum/NICU loop for the program. I have all the qualifications except doing my internship/preceptorship in NICU or L&D. I even took the Regional Perinatal class already. I am currently working as a Postpartum Nurse at Sharp Healthcare. Anyhow, I wish you all the luck! Hope to hear from you soon!!!!
  5. Hi Guys, To anyone who had a panel interview with Sharp Chula Vista's Med Surg/Telemetry Residency Program, did any of youhear back regarding offers yet? I had interviewed May 5th and havent heard back from them, so I'm kinda thinking I didn't get the position! Just wondering if anyone else had heard back yet! Thanks and have a wondeful Memorial Day Weekend!
  6. SDN9999: Have you heard back from Sharp Chula Vista regarding the L&D and PP new grad positions? Any news?
  7. FYI- My friend had an interview for Sharp Mary Birch's NICU a few days ago. So looks like they are starting to interview people for that unit!
  8. Hi Nicole15, Glad your inteview went well! Any word regarding their decision???!! I hope you get the L&D position!!!!! Best of luck to you!
  9. Hi Nicole15, I'm thinking you had your interview for L&D today. Wishing you lots of luck! How did it go??????? Any interview advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much! Hopefully all of us get calls for interviews soon!
  10. Good luck to all those still in the running for a position! As for those like myself, who were not selected, we must keep the faith!!!! What are you guys doing in the meantime, are you working anywhere? volunteering? Just wondering! I'm hopeful for the new year coming up. I hope it will be MY year! :)
  11. Noahsmama: Thanks so much for all the helpful advice. I have my BSN and also have my Public Health Certificate. I've applied to volunteer at one my county Public Health Centers, so hopefully that will get me some exposure to the Public Health field and help me network as well. So you worked a year in acute care prior to landing your public health nurse job right? I'm trying my best to find an acute care hospital job but its really hard! I took the RN Rehab Nurse position, just to get some experience under my belt. I am hoping that SOME experience is better than none in this terrible economy! How do you like working with foster kids? Anyhow, I contacted my community professor and am scheduled to talk to her later today! Hope she can give me some helpful hints as well. Thanks again for your advice. I really appreciate it!! Decembergrad2011: Thanks for the website! I never thought about joining the U.S. Public Health Commisioned Corps. I will definitely look into it! Are you in it or do you know anyone that is currently in it?
  12. Hi Everyone, I am a new grad RN who is currently working as a Charge Nurse at a Nursing and Rehab Center since August 2010. I enjoy the challenge of my current job but it's not where my passion is. I am interested in getting into Public Health Nursing and would like any tips or advice in how to break into the field. Its been difficult finding an acute care hospital job for me, so I have been trying to think of other options I have. My passion is in teaching and health prevention. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks so much!! :)
  13. So I emailed the nurse recruiter and she replied back that, they are still reviewing new grad applications and questionnaires and that we will receive an email updating us one way or the other in the next few weeks. So everyone sit tight and Good Luck!!!
  14. Anyone hear back from UCSD yet? Any emails sent out that resume was forwarded to hiring manager???..... I Haven't heard anything yet!!!
  15. Twentysomething: I am remaining hopeful that we all still have a chance to be selected for an an interview. I received the email that my portfolio was forwarded to the director of med surg/tele @ Chula and have yet to hear from them still...which scares me! But regardless, we must remain hopeful, if I don't hear from Sharp I am hoping for UCSD! *Fingers crossed for EVERYONE in this tough economy*
