I work FT as RNCM m-f 8-5pm and make $33.00hr, we are expected to be the back up RN 1-2x a month. We have a nurse who works 3-11p 11p-8 am M-F, and we only get called if they are swamped. When we are on call we get $35.00 regardless if we are called out. If we get called out we get our $35 plus whatever amount of hours we worked. Mileage is 57cents a mile. Oncall u get mileage door to door. Now if you work 11p-8am you get a guarantee of 5hours wheather you get called out or not. Oh and admission you get paid hourly rate. Which you could bill for no more than 4hours w/o raising any questions. i live in san diego and have less than a year of professional experience

@katie33 hope you see this, i am only have guest membership therefore i cant private message you. in regards to phone interview questions, last fall i had phone interview and panel interview but did not get hired. i applied again this march, hadn't heard anything and thought my application didnt get seen and then out of no where i recieve a call asking for a phone interview again. i honestly cant remember the questions in great detail it was so long ago and i have been on so many interviews since so here we go... strength and weakness where do you see your self in 5, 10, 20 yrs what do you bring why sharp healthcare why nursing thats all i can remember my phone interview is today.

I was actually a make-up artist for 7 yrs prior to becoming a nurse, the ultimate girly girly, love having my hair, makeup, nails, and outfit. love being done up. My ideal everyday make-up would be like the girls at the MAC counter, however being a young professional, 26 years old and looking young I want to be taken seriously in my profession and be viewed and seen as an authority and respected. With that in mind I have toned it down dramatically. I wear a long wearing foundation, powder, blush, eyeliner black (not too heavy, but i got dark hair), mascara, and light neutral lip gloss. Its the minimum in which i personally feel great. My hair pulled back in a pony or puff or what ever cute way i managed to put up my hair. For me when i look in the mirrowr and like what i see back, gives me confidence and makes me feel good...if i oversleep and literally have roll out of bed and go i feel like crap all day, because i think i look like crap. I will add that I am way more tired and lazy to do anything more with myself than what i described above. I use to straighten or put my hair in rollers everyday, now just a lil mouse and let air dry and 5 min later pretty natural curls. Onlly time i look like the girls at the MAC counter now is a special occassion a night on the town.

so i didn't get sharp memorial but one of my classmates did. I was bummed at first, but i already had a back up job offer on the table, so everything worked out okay for me. its only per-diem but i'm 24weeks prego so i am thinking it is likely for the best. Everything happens for a reason :)

my in person interview went well but the questions were tough, i find out monday if they want me...talk about torture.

the phone interview was a little bit odd; the recruiter was transcribing the interview thus i could hear the taps of the keyboard, and she frequently asked me stop, slow down, repeat, summarize what i had just said. WHich kind of messed up the flow of my response or made me feel like i was forgetting something. I felt very unarticulate. However, i dont feel like my repeating myself etc translated over to the actual transcript of the phone interview. At about 2:45 pm today i did recieve a phone call from the recruiter extending an in person interview to me for this coming friday afternoon :) crossing my fingers i get this... i need to work so soo so bad.

Thanks :) @SDNURN - I have a BSN, already passed boards, ACLS, BLS, and graduated from CSUSM. I never have set foot in sharp before, all my clinicals were in the north county. However I did submit my application with in 10 minutes of the job being posted. I heard from them as early as last friday asking me to resubmit my resume b/c it didnt properly attach the first time.

I recieved a phone call today at about 5:45pm extending me a phone interview for friday afternoon for the adult health unit at sharp memorial. does anyone know exactly the adult health unit is? i'm assuming its like med surg?

I am very familiar with Balboa Naval MEdical center, military brat myself, special needs sister so we spent a lot of time at balboa over the years...i've searched their website and cant quite find where exactly to apply in person. I'd appreciate more specifics if you have them..thank you.
