I am going to be on 5N. Working nights. I finished credentialing and am supposed to get a call with start date beginnning of next week. What about you? I am very excited too!

I interviewed and got a job offer. I am in the process of getting through all of the pre-employment paperwork. Just wanted some opinions on what its like. I am excited, I am ready for something new.

Hi, I am a recent grad. I graduated in april and worked at an LTAC in Va for 5 months and just got hired at one here in San Diego. It is definately not for everyone but, I think I have gotten so much experience already. At my recent interview they asked what types of patients would you see in the ltac hospital? ( Most of these patients are suffering from multiple things like DM w/ huge wounds(wound vacs), infections(MRSA, C-Dif, cellilitis ect, trachs, vents. They asked what complications would you see b/c these patients are in the ltac from 25-60 days? DVT's, bed sores, hospital acquired infections. Any more info you can Pm me here. Thanks for the advise. I am aware of the programs. I've had my heart set on the new grad program at Rady childrens since before I graduated in April.I was one of the first to put an application in.I'm flying out to interview for it in a couple of weeks. i'll be there a couple of months before i start if I get it but, we've been planning for it. thanks for the heads up.

Here is my problem. I went to school in Va at medical careers institute in newport news.Graduated in april 08 passed nclex in june. I am about to apply for licensure in ca but, want to make sure that my school is accepted there. I have talked to the cabon the vbon adn my school and no one is helping. I don't see why is wouldn't be accepted but, need to know for sure b/c we can't afford to live out there if I can't work. Hubby deploys to Iraq soon. Any help would be great. Nicole:confused:

for those of us who have already taken boards, please answer a few questions that might help ease the minds of those who are still waiting to test or for results. i know reading as much as possible about other people's experience helped me feel a little bit better while i waited. 1. how many questions did you take on nclex? 75 2. what study materials did you use? did you take a test review course? took hurst review(loved it) did saunders q's and some nclex 3500 q's 3. did your son offer any testing (eri, ati, hesi)? we took eri"s after each class then a 4 day eri review 4. how long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? 24hrs 5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? i cried and threw up the whole day, i was sure i failed. 6. was this your first attempt at nclex? yes:nurse:

I just found out this morning that I did pass. That was the worst 24hrs of my life. I'm so thankful. Nicole:yeah:

I have a qustion. what does the BON website or phone line say if you failed? Does it flat out say fail or pending?Anything input would help. Thanks, Nicole

I just saw that it says I passed on my title of the thread. Some how in my fury I clicked that. I really don't think I did. I have thrown up twice since getting home and have spent hours looking at posts of people who failed w/ 75q's. I can't stop its madness. I just have this pit in my stomach that is telling me its not good. I hate this. I keep thinking of so many that I had no idea and then 20 SATA, are you kidding me? Well all we can do is wait and get drunk which I'm seriously considering.lol. Nicole:twocents:

It was awful. I have never felt so stupid in my life. I had at least 15 SATA (i hate them), 1 drug calc, and lots of priority and infection control. I feel like there is no way I proved competency with how hard those questions were. I have to wait until tomorrow morning to know for sure but, I am really positive I failed. This sucks, this waiting ,this feeling of dread. yuck! Nicole
