Scrubs for the slim

Published

What is a really great brand of scrubs that fit slim girls? Im on the long and petite side and it's difficult to find scrub top that dont make me look frumpy or are too short for my torso. What brands would you recommend that are slightly fitted or fit a little more snugly on those of us who are slim?

I'm very thin and most scrubs make me look very unkempt and unprofessional. Even in the smallest size.

Word.

And short to the mix (I am short, too), and I look like an unkempt, unprofessional child playing dress up in her mother's clothes.

Oh, so they really are European! Does that explain why their men's shoes look like their women's shoes?

Of course! All European men are metro.

In French, the word petite means "small," "little," "tiny." I can't wrap my head around the 5 foot tall 300 lb woman ever being referred to as "petite."

As for the OP, willowy is good, so is "tall and slender." I wish I were tall and slender! As it is, I'm average and average.

Thanks! I will try that. Koi are so cute, but they are always too tight. Maybe I'm trying the wrong style, because you are biggern me!

The breast size convo is interesting to me. I'm not skinny. I hover between an 8-12, which is koi med - large.

The part that doesn't fit when I gain is the Breast part. I usually start wearing a less supportive bra. This makes me able to fit better into them.

My bra size is 36-38 DD. Kois fit me, until I pick up more weight, then my DDs bras don't fit and I know it's time to lose a few.

This made me laugh.

I once bought a really good bra, went out with my work friends, and wore real clothes, a sweater and jeans. I took off my coat, my friend Erin goggled at me and said "Far, your BOOBS are HUGE!"

At work I only wear Lillyette minimizer. They are comfy and they don't smash you flat, they are amazing. They only have 2 hooks, and their straps are not thick, which is a big selling point for me, as I hate to feel as if I'm wearing a steel trap.

They sell them at Macy's, or you can go right to the website, but I would try it on first for size. I fluctuate, too.

Lol this is how I got my husband. When I wear scrubs you can't tell I have any boobs. When I was working at the teen drug rehab facility with him he didn't realize my boobs were so big (I have DDs, 5'2" & at the time I weighed probably between 110-120lbs)! Well one day I took off my scrub top & was just wearing the long sleeve shirt underneath because it was so hot in the nurses station (the place was ghetto). Well he brought a kid by & he said at that moment he fell for me & was also really surprised. Lol.

I was once petite. Now I'm just "curvy"

Personally, I like 'Reubenesque'. But one little old gentleman pt told me he like 'zoftig' women as held out his arms and hands like hugging an 'abbondaza' girlfriend. I don't blush too often, but I did that day.

I don't think I could ever refer to myself as endomorphic.

I totally get you on the inseam thing. Except mine is the exact opposite. A fitting top is almost always too short. Im alll legs and alll torso if that makes sense. Little bit of Butt and Hips, but almost NO boobs (23 and a STILL an A-cup). Lolol thanks so much. I'll take a look at Lane Bryant.

Then Grey's Anatomy Scrubs, if they still cut them the way they did 6 years ago. I loved the way those fit and I was built like that. After the baby, the pants are great but the tops had to be donated, NO way was that working...

Oh Farawyn darling...a good bra makes all the difference. I've breastfed 3 kids for a total of 6 years and mine require support. 😏

This same "support" means I wear larger sizes than I would otherwise.

So...when I was working FT, I began having chest pain/ epigastric. I realized it was due to my bra band. Went straight out and bought cheapo bras with no underwire! (Due to the advice of other nurses on AN).

Chest pain went away. I could breathe. Evidently I'd gained weight! Along with my boobs. 😁

I've not yet purchased a minimizer, but it's likely in my future, as my mom swears by them! 😁

I like wearing supportive bras, because, like I said, I'm not skinny. And without breast support, I have what I call a moob. Eg a big mush of Tummy fat plus boob fat, causing me to look like a fat Santa marshmallow in Scrubs.

Unless I wear scrubs with a built in waist. 😂 enough about the ta-tas!

I hope this post isn't deleted for indecency. These are real

Issues! 😂

Im on the long and petite side
Just a friendly FYI...there's no such thing as 'long' and petite. The fashion industry in the US applies the petite label to anyone with a small frame who 5'3" or shorter.

Tall people cannot be petite because they are too tall to ever be petite. There are other terms to describe the tall and slender, such as 'spindly,' 'lanky' or 'gangly.'

In fashion and clothing, a petite size is a standard clothing size designed to fit women of shorter height, typically 160 cm (5 ft 3 in) or less.

I feel nakey without my wires. I've been wearing underwire since 6th grade.

If you gain or lose weight you need to go see one of those really old ladies with the glasses hanging on the chain around their necks and the tape measure wrapped around them like a scarf.

They are usually very short (not necessarily petite!) , smell of mothballs, and work in finer department stores. YES, they will pinch you and feel you up and call you "hun", but they will measure the heck out of your girls, and get you the best fitting bra ever.
