Science course order

I took micro and chem together along with three non-science courses and didn't have any problem.... other than a little stress. :)

They are both busy and can be difficult and time consuming (micor more than chem for me) but you probably will be fine. It really depends on what sort of student you are.

I took micro before A&P even though they require you to take it the other way around here. (somehow they let me take micro first). I think having a micro background has helped in the first few chapters of A&P. But I remember in my micro class the teacher said tons of times "you should have had this in A&P..." But I still got an A

I took biology (a prereq for A & P), then A & P I and II, chem, and micro. I never took any science courses together, but I know plenty of people that did and it turned out fine. It's all in what you put in to it.

I know this question has been asked a zillion times before. I would like to know what would be the best way of tackling the required science courses.

Chemistry, Microbiology, A&P I, and A&P II

I have a feeling most of the replies will be something as simple as "Whatever you feel comfortable taking during a given semester and what kind of course load you plan on having". If at all possible I would like to here from those who are tackling two science courses in a single semester.

At the moment my spring semester (tentative) has Chemistry (MW) and a Nursing Microbiology (TTH) course with one to two courses in addition to those on those specific days.

This semester I am taking chem 100 and and AP 101

next semester I plan on doing AP 102 and Micro

its alot of work this semester but its do able, I am also a full time mom to 3 kids and so far working on A's in both classes.

I took Bio, then Chemistry (10 weeks during the summer) then ap1 (8 weeks.. that was too fast) then micro (full term) and now AP2 (full term.. and still goes by fast...) I took micro and AP2 by themselves... AP1 I had 3 other non science classes.. Chemistry, took with a math class, and Bio took with 2 other non-science classes.

Science is hard for me to double up on, since the labs are like their own class...

but.. I also have 3 children, and I homeschool one of them (that has special needs) I don't know what your working/family situation is

(if they were not, I probably would have doubled up, knowing that a "B" would be fine..but in my area, a "B" is not fine.. you have to have "A's" to avoid the waiting list (and even with a 4.0 I might still have to wait a year for this particular program)

I took A&P 1, 2, then Micro and last Chem. I did the chem last because I needed to get used too taking these horrid science classes and I knew I would struggle with chem. My advisors kept telling m to take chem first..lol yeah right, There was a large section on chem in my A&P 1 class and it kind of let me know what I was in for. I got solid B's in all my classes but my hardest was not chem ..it was micro.. Good luck to you

I would strongly recommend to take Chem first...it will make all other science classes a little less painful and your chances of getting A's in the A&P and micro classes will greatly increase.

B's are not fine where I am either, especially in the 2 A&P and the Micro/pathology class! smart move NOT to double up on the science classes!

Chem provides a nice base for Biology and will use it in A & P - you will be glad you took it first.

I'm starting with Chemistry. I figured it would be the most difficult science course for me and I wanted to be able to really focus on it and see if I could get through it, and do it well. So far so good! Next semester, if I don't get into the program, I'll take a couple more continuing ed courses: the second Chem requirement and Biology, b/c I think I'll be able to double up those courses without too much trouble. Getting those requirements out of the way would be great, b/c they're prereqs for all the other sciences I need to take.

Take Chem first. I took Chem, A&P 1, A&P 2 (during the summer over 5 weeks span.) and am currently in Micro. It really depends on the student and the professor. If you want to take two at a time, I would ask around to see which professor has the best teaching style that is suitable for you.
