Have you been given a raise every year?

This June will mark the end of my second academic year at my school. We are a brand new school (I am the first nurse) and we are a Charter school. There is no pay scale like in the district public schools. Last year my salary went up very slightly. I am adding 5 extra hours to my schedule for next Fall and am awaiting my re-commitment letter. I am curious if you get a raise each year. I expect an increase in pay for the 5 extra hours, but have also asked for an increase overall since this will be my third year in the Fall.

We have a 12 step nursing scale. Every year you move up a "step." Our district also gives out % raises, sometimes, on top of your step raise, based on contract negotiations.

I'm on the teacher's contact. So I do get yearly raises. A year or two before I started they took a pay cut, but that's not likely to happen again, at least this year!

Here we're on the teacher's contract, and honestly I don't know if we get raises every year or what. The pay isn't what keeps me here, that's for sure :)

I haven't received a raise in 4 years. We have been on a wage freeze. That said, they have hired new nurses and paid them more than some of us old-timers make. They re-vamped the pay scale, but didn't go back and include us in it. Very unfair.

When I was on my own contract I got a yearly % increase that changed each year depending on a number of factors (budget issues, job responsibilities, my negotiations, etc). Now I'm on the teacher's contract so there is a % increase each year built into our contract.

That happened at the hospital where I was a nurse manager. When I came in I was shocked at how low the salaries were and that the senior nurses hadn't seen raises in years (other than the standard 3%). New nursing grads were coming in and making $5 more per hour than the most experienced nurses b/c they were hiring into a new pay scale. We ended up having nurses leave and then re-apply to get more $$. It was crazy.

No raises. Not even a small, yearly cost-of-living raise.

We seem to receive about a 2.5% raise yearly, along with a small yearly increase as we move along the (teacher) pay scale for years of service. That being said, the gap between me (with 12 years of service) and a first-year teacher seems to get smaller every year.

My mom is a teacher at that is how her union negotiated her contract! So she and all the other long time employees got screwed, but all the newer teachers got a higher raises so they voted to pass it. And they'll leave in a couple years to go to other districts, while the older teachers who can't get hired anywhere because other districts would have to pay them more money are stuck with this raw deal. Shameful.

My first 2 years I did not get one (was a LVN, no one in the district got a raise).:no: My 3rd received one.:up: My fourth year I received a stipend for completing my RN, but no raise.:) Received one my 5th & 6th year.:roflmao: Not based on anything, just whenever the districts decides to give raises. :geek:

This is my second school year here, first FULL school year since I started in October 2015. Since then, I have received 2 raises. However, I have to admit, I don't remember what % increase it was though :sorry:. I'm anticipating another raise at the beginning of next school year since I will be moving from part time to full time. Halleluyer :yes:
