Nurses New Nurse

Published

Hello all. just reading different threads and wondering what does the starting salary look like for a grad nurse? i live the in Atlanta area so any ball park figure will do. thanks!

What about OHIO for a new grad

Miami Valley 22 per hour with 10,000 loan repayment for 2 years of service

Springfield regional 22 per hour, 27 for night shift, with 3, 000 sign on bonus. What gives? and where do they pay 26 an hour? Ohio State won't even hire their own alumnis?:zzzzz:imbar

I live in Northern VA and I'm starting at $25 with night and weekend diff. So my range will be $25-$33 per hour.

Same for my hospital in b'more. they have $5k sign on bonus, 3000/yr for loan forgiveness, plus other benefits. I really didnt care about the pay. i wanted to work there so it didn't matter what they pay but their pay is good.

Specializes in OR.

I'm starting out at $18/hr. Depending on the hospital, it ranges from $16-20 around here. At my hospital, they also offer a $4000 sign on bonus for a two year commitment. The cost of living isn't high here compared to a lot of other places, but with gas prices the way they are, it makes my salary seem way too low. With my pay, I don't even have enough money to move out of my parents' house unless I got a roommate, and that defeats the purpose of moving out.

UCSD Med Center new grad pays about 32 per hour plus shift diff. Not the greatest, not the worst either.

I used to live in southeastern kansas and spent one of my christmas holiday or maybe thanksgiving as well on a farm in OK. We did come to tulsa a couple of times. After spending money on school here in PA there's no way i'll work in the four state area. Missouri might be OK and i liked those holidays i spent in kansas city so i wouldn't mind Missouri. Everyone thought i was gonna come back there and work but no way! The salary isn't worth my education. $4000 for a two-year commitment??? I got 5K for a one year commitment and they also pay off loans and pay for you to go back to school. And oh, the pay ranges from $25 - $33 for a new grad depending on which shift you work. I'm sorry but the techs i work with in my current hosp. here in PA make $18/hr. Nurses make $26+ in philly.

About $30 + In NY, but our living costs are higher than other states

Specializes in MICU.

In pittsburgh, pa i will be starting at 20.50 for GN with a $8000 sign on bonus for 3 years.. that i just so happened to get because now the hospital does not give out sign on bonuses

Specializes in ER.

in 2002 in Washington state, my new grad pay was as a per-diem nurse on a med/surg ortho floor - rate $27/hr.

I am sure St. Louis, MO has been posted at least once in the 35 pages. At the areas largest hospital $20.39 for experience $2.30 for evening, $2.90 for nights, $5.90 for weekend nights. I don't know for the day shift for weekends because I will be working nights. I think without experience the recruiter said $19.00.

I just got hired in NJ and ill be making about 32 an hour for the night shift on telemetry its 29 per hour base pay without shift diff.

I live in Lexington KY and are a new grad with an ADN. I just started working in telemetry and progressive care and my base pay is $20.63 with shift differentials up to $4.25 for nights and weekends. No bonus but they offer tuition reimbursment up to $3600/year up to 2 years for ADN with agreement to work for one year per year being reimbursed.

From reading some of the posts here, that's not too bad but not too great either! But considering I was working in a medical office, with no official certification, etc, I will be making double what I was.
