  1. Congrats!! I'm in too. CAN'T believe it!! I wish I would've found out earlier. Just flew across the country to Boston to interview at Northeastern lol. Oh well. Good luck to everyone!
  2. Nothing yet. I read somewhere that they call to set up interviews in early December for later that same month. So hopefully we all hear something soon :imbar
  3. Haven't heard either Let's keep each other updated. Good luck to all!
  4. I'm in a very similar circumstance. Graduated from nursing school in December of 07 and moved to California to work immediately upon graduation. Miss Phoenix though and am moving back. I was able to get a job in a great unit at one of the Banner hospitals. Just be patient and keep applying to all the postings that would interest you. Also, try to get the contact information for the hospital's recruiter and contact them by phone personally. Good luck!!
  5. I've done clinicals here and had my preceptorship in the ED and I can tell you that it's a great place to work. The staff is great, always willing to help each other out. They also staff really well. Transport to transport your pt to the floor or CT, interpreters in the unit full time, and always plenty of techs around. Hope this helps!!
  6. Do the 16 month program for sure, it's totally worth it in the end. You might as well get it over with and get your career started. In my case, I graduated from ASU West in Dec. Now I have 6 solid months of experience instead of graduating this past May and maybe starting a new job sometime this summer. A lot of people can't do the 16 month thing because of kids, money, etc.; but if you can swing it then it's totally worth it. Good luck!
  7. UCSD Med Center new grad pays about 32 per hour plus shift diff. Not the greatest, not the worst either.
  8. Focus on correct grammar and idea organization more than anything. I remember getting so caught up in writing an elaborate essay that I ran out of time. I would ask your peers what questions they got and practice writing out answers to those questions. This will really help when it comes to the real thing. My question was: Why do you want to become a nurse and what do you think you can contribute to the nursing profession? At least I think that's what it was. Ultimately, it's your grades that matter most. Hopefully ASU gets rid of the essay as part of the admission score, it's way too subjective IMO. Anyway, good luck!!
