I wanted a job in Northern California but you know I am really looking into Reno myself. Applied. Waiting for reply.

Wondering why am i getting zillion rejections from northern california when i have zillion acceptances from other states? They write to me and state that my background does not match telemetry, when i have stepdown icu experience? What kind of experts work in northern california, particularly bay area and sacramento?

Tucson Medical Center of University Medical in tucson for a registered nurse new grad? Please what do you think?

I feel that I should not sign any contracts, because I am not a Russian Bride, unless I get into specialty floors. I don't think that it is fair that new grad RNs have to work nights. I am far too energetic and proactive to work nights only. I also feel that 8 patients and 22 bucks an hour is not fair, when you slaved to a hospital full time overtime all weekends and holidays and didn't have anytime off, while attending full time nursing program, and I'm sorry waited 1 year for it, even though all the prereqs were finished for additional 20k at a University (not community college). . . and on top of no one knows other names but yours when it comes to cleaning up, walking transporting, whole units and the patients. Now your standing at 32 years old thin as a rail, moving 300 pound patients because you have a heart of gold and forgot how to say no long time ago.

May baby, I feel the same way as you do. Miserable. I got offered a phenomenal job in CA BUT iT IS NIGHTS and nights, sorry are not for everyone, and for those that are used to days are carcinogenic thanks :loveya:keep your chin up and try Tuscarawas County OH we went to see DRACULA there outdoor drama and were impressed with the surrounding beauty. Plus they have Kent State University there with lots of other options in nursing and other things too. Check it out its close to Cleveleland and cheap living.

once you pass the NCLEX do you have to work as a nurse? Can you be forced to sign a contract, when you are not finished with one? Thanks

Can a hospital force you to sign a year contract when you become a registered nurse (even though you don't want the bonus money/ when you already owe them a contract for 6 months? Also once you become a nurse can you opt to stay and work as a PCT to finish out the 6 month contract? very concerned Pacific:(

Uc davis had a posting there a while back and were not hiring for new grads but go to ucdavis med center website look up external candidates under employment then click on employment and new grads it will list the positions, but listen call back the recruiter often. Otherwise they will fill the position with Sacramento/Bay new grads. Thanks Pacific as Always:twocents::)

I superagree with the Michigan part, because OSU won't hire me, even though I am an alumni, but University of Michigan would. They are hiring nem grads. Yet, in Columbus, or Grove City there is a company that is hiring its called Maxim. or Springfield Regional Med Center in Springfield OH is too
