Hello all. just reading different threads and wondering what does the starting salary look like for a grad nurse? i live the in Atlanta area so any ball park figure will do. thanks!
Rent is anywhere from $725 to 1000 a month for a 2-3 bed 2 bath apartment. Mine is $725 fior a 2 bed, 2 bath in Carmicheal, the outskirts of Sacramento. Houses go anywere from $1000 to 2000 a month depending on what size and area you want.
Wow, I didn't know rents were so much lower in Sacto. Here in Oakland, (according to craig'slist) a 2 bedroom apartment is running $2000-3000. 1 bedrooms $1200-1600, studios around $1000. San Francisco looks to have 1 bedroom apts around $1800, 2 bedrooms are pushing $3000. Renting houses? forgeddaboutid
It is much less crowded here is why. People here can't afford those types of rents and would move north if they tried to raise the rent to oakland levels.Wow, I didn't know rents were so much lower in Sacto. I'm starting at $30/hr here in Southern California. It really depends on the hospital and shift you choose to work. I've was also offered a new grad position starting at $23/hr, but obviously chose to go for $30 !
hi there, Im a new grad too. do you know where I could apply for a job. Im here in fremont, cali.? they usuallly ask for experience.
Nursing guy, if you don't buy a house, you would still have to rent(unless you're living with your parents)....and some of the other comments mentioned that price for rent can range from $1300-$1600 for a one room/studio. Whereas in other states it's more like $600 for a pretty fancy one. So how do you plan on buying 3 houses when you're going to be paying twice the amount for rent? =P

I pay 725 for a two bedroom and two bath about 900 square feet, have no gas bill, garbage bill, water bill, only electricity and phone to pay for and those will be 1/4 reduced for two years after I graduate. Not to mention I have four children and wife to claim so my taxes will be very low to nothing still after I graduate. I plan to work 5 days a week at a 12 hour a day hospital, so 4th day will be 1 1/2 pay= near 60 a hour and 2x for the 5th at nearly 80 a hour=120k-130k a year.
Thats how.
Nursingguy, so if you're paying 1200-1600 for rent how do you expect to save enough for 3 houses? you get paid maybe $5-6 less per hr where I am, but the rent is like $600 for a nice 1 bedroom apt.
Where are you working ( which state)? And how long have you been working as a nurse? Let me know if you don't mind please cause I am just graduated and I need a place to start working.
Thank you!

true, but that is only if you are buying a house, if plan to save for the next 20 years and then move to texas I can buy 2 or 3 houses with what I have saved.
