Sacramento State Spring 2023

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello! Anyone applying to the BSN program at Sac State for Spring 2023? With how many points are you guys applying? I still have yet to take my first attempt on the TEAS.

I'm not applying just yet (still have to finish a few prereqs) but recently took the TEAS and did well. It's a little daunting to look at the statistics for previous semesters and see that you basically need a minimum 4.0 and 90%+ to have a chance of being accepted. When are you planning to take the TEAS?

I'm going to take my first attempt on Friday. I've only started studying for the exam just a week ago LOL. I'm super nervous because I really need to get at least 85% on the test to have some hopes of getting in, but when I did a practice test, I only got 72% LOL. I've already finished all pre-reqs too but I still did so bad T.T

Good for you, you still have few more pre-reqs to take but you already did well on the test! What tips or advice would you give? How do you study and where? Thanks in advance, and good luck!

Thanks for the kind words. ? I used the official ATI study manual and I highly recommend it. I spent about 3-4 days on each of the 4 sections, a few hours a day, going through the lessons and taking the practice quizzes at the end of each section. I spent more time on math and science because I felt more confident about reading and English.

I also purchased a practice test through ATI and took it a couple of days before the test to see where I still needed to review. My scores on the practice exam and actual exam were within a percent of each other, so it was pretty accurate for me. Good luck to you too!

I need advice please T-T

Hello, I am applying for sac state’s nursing program for Spring 2023. I just needed advice on whether I should retake the TEAS again. I took it today, which is my 2nd try, and I got an 88%. Is this a good score to submit or should I try a 3rd time? is it competitive enough?

Here are my stats by the way:
 • 4.0 GPA (40 pts)
• 88.0% on TEAS (17 pts)
• bilingual (3 pts)
• has work experience of 150+ hrs (3 pts)
• went to a local community college (4 pts)
• no class omitted (2 pts)
• no nursing pre reqs repeated (2 pts)

My total would be 71 points out of 88 points. Should I retake the TEAS again to get above a 90% or should I just keep the 88%?

I’m contemplating because money is kinda tight right now, and I’m not sure if I should do another test.

Do you think I have a good chance of getting in with my current stats?

Please let me know! Thank you!

Hi!

I basically have the same stats as you except for the TEAS. I still have to take my 2nd attempt in 2 weeks. Honestly, your current stats are already great, but based on the applicant stats from the previous semesters, I would recommend taking the test again just so you could be more confident of getting in. I know the test is expensive, but I think it'll be worth it once you get into the program :). Good luck, and I hope we'll both get in and become good friends! heheh

How was your experience on your 2nd attempt tho? How was it compared to your first one? I'm kinda nervous for mine.

I applied with 73 points...but I have retakes and classes omitted....praying I get in

Nice! What did you get on the TEAS test? and how did you study for it? I’m taking my last attempt tomorrow and still don’t feel as confident. With 73 points, I think you have a good chance of getting in. Good luck!

A straight 92 on the TEAS..my 3rd attempt..I got the ATI package and mometrix and just relentless studying

did you end up taking your last attempt? I just did mine today and if all my documents for optional criteria get approved, I would also apply with 71 points.

Thank you! I just did my last attempt today and got 85.3% lmao. Just .1% and I would've gotten +1 more point for my TEAS points. I have 71 RN if all my documents for optional criteria get approved. Do you, by any chance, know the cut off points from last semester? I'm really getting nervous because on Spring 2021, it was 71, but that was 2 years ago, so I was thinking what if it got higher these past 2 semesters
