How do you feel about RNs being drafted during the next world war?
sure we are! america is always looking to bomb some random country filled with brown people!
Ah yes of course we are all racists. But then again, there would be no America if the Europeans hadn't decimated and taken over the People's lands.....just saying.
Then again if you were beng snarky....my plogies.
I will volunteer if I must, but only if I am not placed in Guantanamo or other secret prisions assisting with force feedings or having to patch up the people we torture. Sorry, it would just go against my ethics and morals. Unfortunately, if drafted, I may end up in any one of those s***holes doing morally reprehensible things.
I actually spoke to several recruiters for the air force, army, and navy about joining up after I became a RN. Due to my medical condition, I am unable to serve in the military...which is fine with me...also making me ineligible to be drafted. However, that was when I was single with no comittments that I wanted to go to the military. I'm married now and things have changed...no military for me. However, a voluntary civilian nurse service where I can go home at the end of the day...I would gladly consider.
If it were necessary to prevent another "hitler" or "mussolini" but as far as this "war on terror" nonsense, NO. I do not believe in killing and waging war for monetary gains and with immoral actions. Sorry but no-bid government contracts or dick cheney and his buddies are not worth anyone's lives.

That is a bad thing about being in the service. You do not choose your wars, but wait I'm sorry today you can choose your wars. When one is on that you don't like you just don't join. The problem comes when you are already in when the US decides to invaded another country. Then you are stuck. Most wars in history have been for gain. The Geneva Convention was the cause of Hitler. Hitler stopped Hitler. His biggest mistake was to invade Russia. If he was a student of history, he would have stayed away from Russia. The Russians used the same tactics they used on Neapolitan. They just kept retreating until the winter hit.
The point now is that our wars are not against any "clear enemy" and not for an "real cause" just vague interpretations. We went to war based on fairly clear-cut issues now. And no, we don't get to pick our wars unfortunately. But I would not go to be of service in a war I thought was just murdering innocents for monetary gain and no real cause. Sorry if that makes me unpatriotic, I mean, I'd lay my life down in service if there were a real cause, but I'd have to be convinced to believe there was any real cause besides pure money greed.
