RN License plate

Nurses General Nursing

In my state we can get an auto license plate that has RN with a picture of stethoscope on it. Today I learned an Lpn in my facility has one on her car. She is not in school to obtain her her and no one in her household is an RN. I just find this strange.

I do not want to have anything associating me with a healthcare worker. That is why I never bothered to get lights put on my car, get a firefighter/emt license plate, or get the safe vehicle check off.

The plates are nice but I will pass. When I'm off the clock, I don't want to be ID as a nurse.

I'd send the foundation a check on my own and have the peace of mind knowing my privacy was maintained.

I've never once had anyone violate my privacy. In fact, I consider the plate to be an insurance policy against speeding tickets

I'm not into advertising that I'm a nurse on my license plate.....although I have ENA stickers everywhere....LOL

My only issue with this is that the LPN should not be able to display the RN plate legally, they have a nurse plate as well......although Indiana language and title protection isn't strong and it isn't criminal...as far as I know. There are stated that have laws that protect the title of nurse and Registered nurse.

OP I would call the BON or the DMV/BMV...wherever you get your plated and ask what is required to have this plate issued.

I can see why it might bother someone that she has this plate, but are you really going to do something about it? I mean who cares in the grand scheme of things. Perhaps there is something you don't know?

I'm surprised to hear that there are any states that require you to show proof of licensure to get the plate. In the states in which I've lived, the nursing license plates were just intended to show support for nursing as a group, not to indicate that the person behind the wheel was necessarily a licensed nurse. I would never want a plate implying I'm a nurse; I agree with another poster -- if you want to support the state nursing foundation, send them a check directly and be done with it.

Not much of a difference. The hospital where I work is a zoo!:roflmao:

Here's the Tennessee one... extra $35/year.

I'll put both size pics since I don't know how big it'll show on mobile devices.

In Georgia, the extra fee goes into the general fund, and not a nursing specific part of the budget, so, no thanks.
