The Rittenhouse trial has begun in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The prosecution is presenting first, but apparently the defense argument will be self-defense. So a 17 year old travels out of state with his rifle to a demonstration because he fears for his life?

You can continue to be hypocritical and you and all the other dems can watch your/our country burn. Peacefully of course!
Reality? When you can accept reality and perhaps have a solution to the racial and political divide perhaps we can salvage what's left of a once amazing country. I'll sit up here in Canada and do whatever I can.

Oh right! The only black supremacist are actually white supremacists. Got it. Silly me.

I'm a former libertarian, now an independent who was raised in a conservative republican home. I voted for Reagan and Bush. I have never been a Democrat in my life. Our country isn't on fire but the constitution is in peril because of the election lies.
The reality is that the FBI and DHS identify white supremacy groups as a significant and growing threat. Apparently you are sitting in ignorance down there in Canada if you think that "black supremacy" is any kind of a real problem in the USA as compared to white supremacy. That's not an attempt to insult. It's simply an observation because you are ignoring the facts and cannot support your beliefs.
Silly you indeed. The link below references a document from 2020 DHS. That's reality, not some silly game with words trying to minimize what white supremacy looks like in the USA. Shallow and contrived arguments are a waste of time.
DHS draft document: White supremacists are greatest terror threat

The driver unholstered his handgun and his partner at least threatened Rittenhouse with pepper spray when he walked up to the passenger window. The testimony indicated that Rittenhouse kept advancing, that sometimes his hands were up but other times he held onto his weapon and he wasn't following commands. They were concerned. Just not concerned enough to detain and question him for a moment about his unsettling behavior.
Rittenhouse didn't tell the police about the shootings at that moment although it's easy to suspect that he would have had they not sent him away and had tried to understand why he was approaching them.
He's lucky they exercised better judgment than him, and didn't shoot him dead on the spot. According to him and his defense team, they would have been justified in doing so.

I would disagree with the other posters description of the officer's testimony.
But, either way the officers weren't being chased and attacked as Rittenhouse was.

Doesn’t seem like rocket science that you would probably defend yourself; but maybe not, maybe you would just let them attack you IDK. Most people would indeed defend themselves. And most people who are put in that position do not want to kill anyone else and yes they do have to live with it. It was a bad decision for anyone to be there but it was not Rittenhouse who went after others, it was others who came after him, one ceases to be a “victim” when one attacks first!
I would argue that it was Rittenhouse who "went after others," when he made the decision to take his gun and drive to Kenosha in order to take part in the situation that had nothing whatsoever to do with him.

The police do not want nor need random children to help them. They do not want children loose with guns in a highly volatile riot. That only increases the odds that things will go badly. It would have been more helpful fe the cops to admit their employee was wrong to shoot the man in the back and fire the bad apple. Maybe this could all have been prevented.

Rittenhouse did not render any aid to the gunshot victims.

Before they shot him in the back they tasted him, tried to get hand cuffs he then proceeded to reach for a knife , lunged it towards the officers. Not to mention he was trying to take the children in a car that wasn't his.
He also had a warrant out for the woman who lived where this took place, who's kids were in the car and he had sexually assaulted her. This was what the warrant was for and he had a no contact oder against him.
Probably should have just let him get away with the kids tho. Oh and drop the sexual assult charge. He doesn't have to listen to no contact orders either!! The cop definitely should have let Blake kill him before he defended his life.

Seems like a weak and childish response. But it's not that they use the word racist about something they don't like.
It's when they use the word racist it's something people don't want to hear.
In my experience, and I can't tell you how to view the world but I don't think liberals and minorities holler out racist (not sure why you can't say the world) without giving it much thought and thinking about it. I tend to not use it my self often being white and I don't have much experience feeling racism in my life.
Maybe it's not just something they don't like, but it's really something the right doesn't want to hear and deal with. So they shove it under the rug and degrade it making derogatory remarks about "cancel culture" and being too "woke". They'd rather victims of racism, or those trying to educate that racism is here just shut up.
