I am going to take the TEAS Test on Friday Oct. 26th. I have studied the ATI study guide and I have read other threads regarding the test. But, some say it's a hard test and some say it's pretty easy, and that the study guide is much harder than the actual test. Has anyone taken it fairly recently that wouldn't mind sharing some pointers???

Good luck to you. I plan on taking it in a few months. My friend said that there was not a lot of AP on hers but general science there was. English was fairly easy, and know your algebra. I hope that helps. Also, if no one else has asked for it first, I could use it :) I am sure there have been others asking first though. Takin the TEAS scares me

I took the TEAS 2 months ago. I was already accepted to my nursing program when I took it. They wanted to use the scores of this year's accepted students as a guideline for next year's applicants. The test is not a test of intellectual capacity. It is more of a reading comprehension test. Most of the science questions were reading passages about scientific experiments that you would then have to answer questions regarding the experiment. All the sections relied on good reading comprehension and being able to interpret information. Read the questions carefully, and you'll do fine. Good luck :).

:idea:Just relax and breath you will get thru the test. Yes I felt the practice book was harder than the test. I only had a couple of algerbra ?? Maybe one or two ANP questions. Yes alot of the test is reading and comp. Just don't rethink your answers!! I didn't score that great but I passed. Took the test twice and it really was the same. Good luck and let God help ya thru it,,,,,DON"T stress on it.

I took it a few months ago and I also thought the study guide was harder than the actual test. The hardest part for me was the math section...I took too long and didn't finish. (Luckily I did good on the other sections and still passed) So I guess my best advice would be to check your timer every once in a while and get a good nights sleep. I'm sure you'll do fine!! :)

If it is your first go round, you won't have enough time to do the Math unless you really book it thru. Just do the easy ones first, then medium, then hard. Science is a bit easier because you'll either remember/process of elimination, or you won't. Lots of people cheated during mine. I was pissed because I couldn't finish the math, but after I turned in my test, I saw others going back to the math section to finish---not allowed. A lot of people still did poorly. Go figure.
Good luck. The rest was super easy imho.

I didn't take it *that* recently, but within the last year - January IIRC. The study guide was WAY harder than the test. I would make sure you know your english to metrics conversions, and have an understanding of the algebra. The English/reading was pretty easy. The science I didn't do so well on, but if you've taken any science classes recently you'll do better than I did - I hadn't had any science in about 20 years when I took the TEAS. I ended up scoring 98th percentile nationally anyway.
Good luck!

I took it about two months ago and i didnt study a lick and scored in the 80th percentile. So I would amgine that if one did study they would do great!! The reading was easy and the math wasnt that bad. The only thing that threw me was the science. They didnt have alot of A&P(which is what I was excpecting) they had life, physical sciences and stuff like that so pay attention to those. Another tip while you are reading the question even if you ynderstand it read it again. They do TRY to trick you if you arent paying attention Other than that you will do fine. Good luck to you and all the other teas test takers!!!

I'd like to know what percentile I placed in, but it's not on my report. Those are all blank... my individual scores are listed, and they're good, so I think I would be in a high percentile but it just isn't there on my report! Did you have to wait for a report other than the one that was generated immediately? (I took it Oct. 8)
For the OP -- I did buy the study guide and go through it. It helped, especially in science, so definitely go over it and do the practice tests. Then, relax.

If you do a search for threads under TEAS, you'll find that most of us have the same vocabulary questions, the same math questions, etc.
I took it this year, did not buy the study guide. I only purchased the practice test and brushed up on my skills from questions on that.
It's not hard, but it's TRICKY. If you don't read carefully, you'll figure out that as you scan the question, you think in your head you know what it's going to ask for, and then you'll skip right over when the questions "changes gears" and asks for something completely different.
