  1. ''our records indicate that you have recently scheduled this exam. please contact your member board for further assistance. another registration cannot be made at this time.'' according to this trick i have slayed the nclex beast. took the test today alot of the infection control, study the infection control thread with spiderman this saved me. also priority questions and last but not least the hurst review. this was the best review ever. i hope the trick is accurate because i'm not paying for the quick results lol
  2. To be honest as both a CNA and now a nursing student I believe that CNAs are actually under-educated. I have learned more in three weeks of nursing school then I ever learned as a CNA. Also sometimes nurses make it look so easy it could be assumed(falsey by the way) that anyone could do some of the tasks nurses do. Some CNAs have no idea about the nursing process(at least I didnt) assesment techniques, or what they are actually looking at. Also I dont think many understand the actual legal ramifications that could happen by operating out of their scope of practice. Maybe some CNAs didnt have to work hard for their certification(I DIDNT). I AM working hard now and I would take my license a lot more serious than i have. I am not making excuses for the CNA or the nurse b/c they were both wrong, with the nurse being ultimately responsibile. I am just stating some underlying causes. i bekieve the more informed a CNA is the more likely s/he would better perform their jobs. "The Hopefull One"
  3. OMG!!!!!!!!! I have would been furious:angryfire:angryfire:angryfire to say the least! And how could she have not gotten into trouble if not by the cops then certainly by her nursing school!
  4. True True True!!!! lol its funny but very true!!!
  5. Are you doing ml/hr or gtts per minute?? Volume over time=ml/hr and volume over time(make sure you convert hrs to minutes) times the drop facto= gtts per minute
  6. SMS80 How was your semester and arent you excited you have one more semester and your done!!! Congratulations!!!!
  7. You will have a better chance of getting accepted to the nursing program if you have all of your pre-reqs out of the way, however; the important thing is to apply early. I know of some people who applied right at the deadline and did not get in even though their gpas and other things were higher than some of the applicants that applied early. Just some advice. Its is smarter to wait untill your done with your classes so you can devote most of your time to your nursing classes. Good Luck "The Hopefull One"
  8. What did you like best about the program and did your class have alot of people failing out?? Thamks "The Hopefull One"
  9. The program seems impossible, so much so that even though i live 2 secs from the clarkston campus i didnt even apply there!!!!!!!!! Instead I will have to drive about and hour and 15 minutes to gordon where i did apply and got accepted. i was just thinking today as i drove down memorial dr that i wish they had their stuff together because it would have made things ALOT easier as far as travel was concerned and for a sec i even thought about applying anyway thinking it cannot be that bad but after hearing all of the horror stories from this forum and other nurses i have talked to everyone says the same thing!!!! I am happy with my decision to go to gordon cause i think it is better to drive far and pass than to drive close and fail!!!! It just upsets me that i will have to drive right past one nursing school to go to one an hour away!! But at least i will be ok i think! Thanks, for i have taken heed to the warning!!! "The Hopefull one"
  10. I just wanted to say thank you again for all the insight you have given me. I know some students can be apprehensive about sharing information for whatever reason but I am glad you are not one of those. If we had more people with your attitude then things wouldnt seem so bad. But again I just wanted to say thanks!!! "The Hopefull One"
  11. Congratulations to everyone that got into their respective programs!!!!!! I wi:yelclap:ll see all of you in the nursing student assistance forums where we can sweat some more bullets!!!!!:typing:typing:typing
  12. sms80 you have no idea what kind of help you have been to me so far!!!! tuesday i registered for my nursing classes and actually got to meet one me the nursing instructors i will say mr. p. he seemed nice and he was a graduate of the program himself. he spoke highly of the program and the nclex pass rate which is always a good thing to hear!!!:monkeydance: i am very happy about this school and i am smiling on the inside because i feel i have put myself in a good position to succeed becasue i feel gordon is a wonderful school for nursing!!!!! i am very very excited to get started but very nervous as well because i know that it will be very hard work. there is a small part of me that thinks it will be fun though because i really do enjoy learning new things. as far as the skills seminars what happens in those and do you have any suggestions on doing well in the skills and one more thing, i plan on staying in atlanta and commuting with another student. i was wondering are there alot of students in the nursing program commuting from atlanta and since i live there would they always have me at grady(i really want to do most of my clinicals there) thank you so much!!!! "the hopefull one"
  13. SMS80 One more thing. I am very interested in the O.R. Can you tell me if we any clinicals there? And if so how many weeks do we spend in the O.R. And where do we do clinicals at as far as what area? I know med/surg, OB, Psych but where else do we do them. Thanks "The Hopefull One"
