  1. Yeah I was upset about missing the deadline, but now I see it as fate. I think I will do the shorter option at least for now. Having a strong knowledge base is more important to me now than just having more titles. Thanks for the info, ladies and gents!
  2. BrewerRN, FYI the new terms will be 1000 hours and 90, not 45 for the class! It's too late for this year's July test, I believe. Sux I know, but deadline to apply was March 31st! Someone correct me if I am wrong. I am a nurse, but no PP experience so can I do a different Pathway or am I screwed too!
  3. Weird. OK, so apparently age discrimination works both ways. Anyways, we all need to get creative out here. What did you do in your past life? I suspect that you have tons of experience to draw from! Best of luck.
  4. Hey Tankweti, Any stock tips? LOL Message me. A girl's gotta pay off loans whilst she looks for non-existant work in a career that promises to always have work for her.... sigh.
  5. i frickin got a job after 8 mths of searching and 5 mths of volunteering at 3 different places. Now I am exactly where I wanna be. Volunteer people. It can pay off!
  6. agreed. go for it! Not sure it has to be mentioned, but I think it offers extra compassion!
  7. Wow, that's pretty bold of you to just pick up and move out here. Wish you luck because it's a "who you know" type game. I have heard of people looking for 18mths, but you seem to sell yourself well, so who knows!
  8. Wow! I'm a new grad too...not a recruiter or experienced nurse, but I must say my first thought was...why didn't he just stick it out 2 more weeks? Then I read your post. I can't imagine the torture you must have felt and my heart goes out to you. I know you did what seemed best for you, and you are still the supreme person you were before this so-called dream job. Just remember, nightmares are dreams too! We have to protect our patients, licenses and OURSELVES! You did just that! Good luck. :redpinkhe
  9. you mean i get to blame the product, not my nerves? awesome!
  10. Congrats Star! You are the best! Most would have dropped the cause once they found their own! You will make an excellent nurse!
  11. NYC has to be better than here! Only 25% of the nurses I know got jobs in hospitals!
  12. Whole bay area sux for new grads right now and new folks graduating in november/december and january. I say stay where you are and get a year's experience before coming here.... unless you know someone in a hospital or have a ton of experience.
  13. Geriatrics? I mean, we will ALL be old someday. That's my thinking. Am I far off? What do I know? I'm just an unemployed new grad...lol!
  14. i hope you did it. something small. it will help you stand out as a generous person and as a wise old man once said, "Nurses respond to food!" lol
