I know of someone who was declared eligible by the VT BON in 4 mos. I was told though that NM BON makes one eligible in 3 mos. SSN is not needed when you apply in NM initially---however, two years later when you renew your license, you will need an SSN. You can check out their website for more information. Best regards!
For how long is your waiting period to know your eligibility with New Mexico? How about the fingerprinting? Thanks.
Hi! for those who applied for nclex exam under vermont, i need help in completing my application form please. How did you answered the section ' I have practiced nursing as defined in 26V.S.A & 1576' where i can either tick 120 days in 5 years or 50 days in 2 years. What is 26V.S.A all about? I have more than 10 years experience outside USA so shall i just tick the the 120 days in 5 years option and put the name of hospital where i worked? Many thanks.
HI,please advice me in application of Vermont for RN there is only one form for school of nursing .I took midwifery course after nursing .Do i need to send one form to school of midwifery also or it is not required??if both transcripts from both places are required then what to do?same form can be send??or is there any other form for midwifery course.?????thanks in advance.
You only need to send verification of your general nursing degree, not your additional midwifery course.
The person who asked where to get the Verification of License form, you can apply for this via www.cgfns.org
Anyone who wants to work as an RN in the US must pass the NCLEX exam, including american citizens.
Hi, there was this question in the application form (page 3) for vermont, that is - if i have practiced nursing for at least 120 days (960 hours) during the last 5 years or 50 days (400 hours) in the last 2 years. Then there was also the question of employment.
I graduated in April 2005 and passed also the local board June 2005. I rendered volunteer service to a local hospital here in the Phil. for about 8 months and at present a part time clinical instructor in a state university. What should I write/place in the questions above??? I'm quite confused.
Can I just leave the questions unanswered?? Or do I really need to have practiced nursing for such hours before applying to Vermont?? Thanks
I recently passed the nursing board exam in the philippines. Can I still apply for the NCLEX exam in vermont even though I have not yet practised nursing as an employed nurse in a hospital for at least 120 days(960 hours) during the last 5 years or 50 days(400 hours) in the last 2 years? Will my RLE's while I was still a student nurse be counted as having "practiced nursing for at least 120 days(960 hours) during the last 5 years or 50 days(400 hours) in the last 2 years?
Hi, I got my eligibility after 2 and a half months. I left the " hospital experience" question unanswered when I submitted my application then after a month they emailed me regarding my hospital experience, I replied through email that I underwent training course at PCMC and after more than a month, I checked the VT BON website and my application was approved. I received the letter in a couple of days.

It would be best to get in touch with the VT BON and ask them about your situation. But just to share with you, a couple of months back, I e-mailed them and asked them if a foreign graduate can apply to VT without a license from the country where she got her nursing education and I was told that you cannot. Maybe you could double check with them.
