  1. Not true. I'm still here in Uk but we (my family) are relocating to melbourne in june we have got our visa and my husband as my dependent has been granted a working visa without any restrictions, which means he can work anywhere he wants without limitation. My husband is a civil engineer.
  2. thank you suzanne and to all who replied to my post, i'm going to email the board to find out what's happening.
  3. Vermont state board posted on their website that it will take 3-4 months for foreign nurses to sit for the exam. my application was received on nov.1 2006 and I'm still waiting for approval till now, however my friend who passed her application in the same board last december got her approval to sit for the exam on 1st week of feb. Now I am wondering whats wrong with my application. My friend is a CGFNS passer and I am not, does it make a difference? Thanks.
  4. Hi! I applied for working visa long stay category, processing would take 4-6 months that includes getting a sponsor, obtaining nursing registration and visa processing.
  5. Hi! i'm a filipino nurse and also hoping to work in australia in june, i'm just waiting for my visa and registration to come through. The first step is you need to register to the board of nursing in the state where you intended to work, you can download the application form from their website. If you are planning to apply as an immigrant your skills needs to assess by the assessing body which is the ANMC. As far as i know, if your current nursing registration is from the philippines you need to undergo a bridging course before you get qualified as a registered nurse in australia and that would cost you about 6000 australian dollars. For more info you can visit the philippine australian forum. I cant remember the exact website but if you type the philippine australian forum in your search tab it would come up and you can even register there and ask questions. I hope this help.
  6. Thank you very much for the info. I do fancy going to melbourne, I'll try to send my CV via email. would you mind if i pm you?

  9. Hi! for those who applied for nclex exam under vermont, i need help in completing my application form please. How did you answered the section ' I have practiced nursing as defined in 26V.S.A & 1576' where i can either tick 120 days in 5 years or 50 days in 2 years. What is 26V.S.A all about? I have more than 10 years experience outside USA so shall i just tick the the 120 days in 5 years option and put the name of hospital where i worked? Many thanks.
