man..
why did my instructor want me to contact a the freakin nutritionist to get my diabetic with high numbers a cheese burger, whom is on a diabetic diet in the hospital and clearly should not have it !!! this happened a few weeks ago and I'm still ******.
I can answer this question, even if you don't want the answer. The fat and the protein in the meat and cheese slow the digestion and absorption of the carbohydrates in the bun. Even though the pt w/ diabetes has a high blood glucose reading if you give him/her insulin to corrected he/she could still end up hypoglycemic. The cheese burger will help prevent that.
How do I know this for sure? Type 1 diabetic for almost 22 years and a diabetes education coach until I can become a certified diabetes educator.

You should put a warning label on this, I just spewed my coffee all over my desk! :barf01:I could have said the same thing about my school uniform.
