Questions about Seton Versant RN Residency in Austin

Published

I have just been accepted into the Seton RN residency and can answer any questions you may have. I will also be creating a post throughout my experience in the residency. Ask away!

@prettyladie, got the e-mail same time you did too... :) and was given a list of instructions, did all of it... but had to edit my entries.. hay... i dnt know for some reason i guess i was too excited I missed some details. I wonder if it will affect my application... hopefully not... am looking into... Perinatal, Acute care and Critical Care... hopefully and God willing we get into the program... Let me know if you got a call... Coz am starting to consider calling the HR but I dnt want to be pushy... :) I really want this residency.. and really hope to get in.... God bless to both of us...

I was accepted into the residency program and start on October 17th! I'm in the OR and could not be happier! Good luck to everyone applying, and be sure and go to the open house!!! I think that really made my chances a whole lot bigger by meeting managers face to face! Best of luck to everyone, and if you are in the October cohort, see you on the 17th! :)

@ mday001, i am so happy for you... i was hoping can you share your experience applying for seton? like how many interviews you got? I haven't heard any from them yet... but I am hoping to get in for february cohort...

This forum has been EXTREMELY helpful for answering all of my questions except...

Do you have to apply for one specific hospital's residency program, or are you really able to put your application in for all hospitals in the Seton network? Does not having a specific hospital lower your chances?

Also, what is the name of the RN recruiter for all Seton network hospitals? Ive had many people email me, but they are all from HR...

Thank you for your help!:nurse:

Thanks for your forum. I am wondering how much apts are in Austin I plan to move there for the Feb cohort 2012. Do you have an idea how much the diferential for nights and weekends is?

Hi pvnursegrad,

You mentioned that your hiring manager was impressed by the school you graduated from. Which school was that?

Not to be funny but his name says it all. PV....nurse ...grad.....

Prairie view a&m university

how long did you have to wait to hear from them after your interview? i was interviewed a week before Christmas and then shadowed right before Christmas and have not heard anything form them. The program starts Feb. 6th and i am curious when i should expect a call? thanks

I have a question! not sure if you can answer it...sent this message to HR but haven't heard back yet and was wondering if you possibly knew....I graduated from Nursing School in December 2011...

If I applied for the February Nursing Residency Program, and my application on the website was "routed", but no one contacted me for an interview, I was just wondering if I wanted to apply for the June program, do I resubmit all my information and reapply, or is my application still available for the hiring manager to see for the upcoming program?

Thanks :0)

I don't graduate until December 2012, but I already have my eyes set on Seton! Thanks for the thread!

Has anyone else applied for the June cohort?
