Questions about Seton Versant RN Residency in Austin

Published

I have just been accepted into the Seton RN residency and can answer any questions you may have. I will also be creating a post throughout my experience in the residency. Ask away!

Congrats mday! And welcome to the team.

Thank you pvnurse! Now I'm on to searching for apartments in Austin! Any chance you remember how much they helped out with relocation? I live in Arlington, TX.

hey,

I too have been hoping for a phone call about an interview. I was able to get a hold of someone on the L&D hiring committee today about interviews. She told me that as of now all the interview slots are taken, however at the end of Aug. if they chose not to hire some of the interviewees then she will consider me for the second round of interviews.

Hope this helps anyone.

Hey everyone, I am currently a nursing student and I was wondering if, for those who get hired, do you start the versant program right out of school? So, I graduate in December, will I start the program in February or June? Any input is appreciated, my husband and I are just trying to figure some things out financially! Thanks!!

I have a similar question. I'm getting ready to apply for the February 2012 cohort, but am graduating in December 2011. Because they ask for a Texas GN license as part of the application does this mean I am not eligible for the February cohort? Or can I still apply and send in the GN license after I've graduated? I've tried calling and emailing a bunch of times, but haven't heard back.

Thanks for the help!

What hospital was that for?

Anyone heard from the Seton Select Program?

Just wanted to let y'all know I talked to HR...that being said I was told out of the 60 positions only a handful have been filled so there is STILL HOPE for everyone! I too am still waiting to hear. Good luck to all

Has anyone else heard anything? I am starting to lose hope.

Hi PVnursegrad,

Thanks for posting all the info about the Versant program. I have a random question...did Seton require you to sign a 2 year contract with them? I know of a hospital that offers the Versant program and requires new employees to sign a 2 year contract so I wasn't sure if it was the same for Seton?

Thanks!

Anyone heard from the Seton Select Program?

Hi all! Hope everyone has been having a great summer and has been staying out of this heat!

captain byakuya-

I've heard back from the nurse manager of the Seton Select program. The interview is scheduled for tomorrow. The manager actually called me in early august wanting to set up an interview for the 10th, but I was scheduled to be out of town doing some volunteer work that week so I couldn't make it. So I know that they have been doing interviews since at least the 10th... but I have no clue as to when they will stop/decide anything. Hopefully I'll have more information tomorrow... I'll let you all know :D

Hi y'all -- yep a born and raised Texan and Austinite :)

I'm soo glad to see this thread...and many of my questions have already been answered.

On Aug 9th, my application/ resume was "accepted into the Versant Cohort for Oct 17" and I have no idea what this means.

I have not heard from any one and emailed 1 hiring coordinator from UMCB at 1 unit manager at Seton Hays who both replied that no positions are available for the October Cohort.

I have no idea where my resume was sent to so I am trying to gather contacts at the other facilities to inquire about openings since I have not heard from anyone. Well I take that back, NiGia (RN recruiter for Seton) emailed me indicating that interviews will be taking place through September.

How do you 'apply" for a specific position? I just that my application has been "routed" to various facilities but no specific job. :(

Blessings!
