Any new grad RNs in NICU?
I graduated in December of 2011. I recently was offered a nicu level III position that starts in about 2 weeks. no nicu or hospital experience. I just talked about how i really wanted this job, talked about the hospital, surveys, getting my nrp, my clinical experience there on another unit, and my experience there as a patient when i was younger. it was only two spots for the nicu gn position and i am just happy and blessed to be in one of them. good luck hun. i hope you get it.

I was feeling like that too .I graduated this past December and never thought it would take this long to find a job. Family and friends were supportive though. But I was getting irritated by everyone that kept asking "have you heard something yet" or "are you working".Lol. I. would tell them when I heard some good news , trust you will hear the news too lol.

Yes. But with woman's hospital there is no gn postings. Just apply to nurse positions and call hr office and let recruitor know you applied. She will forwarded your app/resume to unit manager/ or director.i also visited the unit I wanted to be on and introduced myself to nurse manager. That is how I was able to land an interview. But yes in due time, it will all pay off.

@applejacks36 I know how you feel. Same thing happen with me at the womans hospital. I interviewed in the beginning of april. Great interview . Nurse manager even said i interviewed well. Never heard anything.I called last month and the manager said they were still thinking over it . She said I would hear something soon and to call hr or her back if I didn't hear anything by that following Monday. now it is June . No call no rejection letter. I just stop calling. Tx woman's and Texas's children's are the only hospitals I want to work at to be honest. But I am still open minded.

(Imagine this is a cardboard sign) Will work for free!
MH fellowship: You have to pay a 500 registration fee if accepted. Kind of crazy if you ask me. But i guess the monthly stipend should makeup for it. I suppose. But experience is experience.
