3. are you still looking for work? no :anpom:

4. if not, how long did it take you to find a job? i precepted in the area before i graduated, so they had an idea of my work ethics. foot in the door, i guess i should say. the director of the er was talking to me about hiring me before i even graduated.

5. if you don't mind my asking, those who are working, what type of job or floor do you work on. er!!! :redbeathe

Specializes in New Grad in Cardiac.

When did you graduate? May 2010 :yelclap:

2. Do you have a BSN or ADN? ADN, working on BSN now :nurse:

3. Are you still looking for work? Yes. We moved right after I graduated so any foot-in-the door I had was left behind. I'm starting over from scratch. If we had not moved, I would've been working 2 months ago. Everyone I talk to now says they want 1-3 years experience or are not hiring new grads AT ALL right now.

I have a few questions for all of you new grads..

1. When did you graduate? APRIL 2010

2. Do you have a BSN or ADN? ADN

3. Are you still looking for work? Technically, yes, because I am underemployed right now

4. If not, how long did it take you to find a job? It took me 5 months after graduation to land a part-time/no benefits/LVN job (and I also have an RN)

5. If you don't mind my asking, those who are working, what type of job or floor do you work on? Currently I work for a weight loss clinic, but I am interviewing for my dream job in L&D next week

Thanks y'all. This is just straight on curiosity. :)

Its a tough job market out there!

1. when did you graduate? aug 6th

2. do you have a bsn or adn? adn

3. are you still looking for work? nope :)

4. if not, how long did it take you to find a job? umm... i applied to several hospitals and none of them were contacting me. i started applying in late june/early july to these hospitals. i got annoyed that no one was contacting me, so i started faxing resumes to doctor's offices. well, i faxed a resume on a friday late in july, and 3 minutes had passed and i got a call from that office!!! she asked me to come in for an interview on monday, and that she was just thinking about hiring a nurse and then she got my fax :) so i went in for my interview on monday, and tuesday afternoon i got a phone call offering me the job at the family practice!! it's right by my house and it's actually my family practice :p i couldn't believe how it worked out. i start sept 13th.

5. if you don't mind my asking, those who are working, what type of job or floor do you work on. i haven't started yet, but it's at a large family practice. there are 5 locations, and she is putting me at the one near my house. they do a lot in there.. have their own lab, do ecgs, meds, small procedures, etc. so i'll be able to do some skills.. just not what i had hoped for if i would have gotten a job in the hospital. but i'm very happy with this, b/c i just had a baby 4 days before graduation... so this mon-fri position is great for now.

congratulations!! :)
