I have a few questions for all of you new grads..

1. When did you graduate?

2. Do you have a BSN or ADN?

3. Are you still looking for work?

4. If not, how long did it take you to find a job?

5. If you don't mind my asking, those who are working, what type of job or floor do you work on.

BSN

3. Are you still looking for work?

No

4. If not, how long did it take you to find a job?

Not long, I had to wait a month and a half for RN orientation. Worked as a CNA at the hospital for last 2 years and got hired as RN on the same unit.

5. If you don't mind my asking, those who are working, what type of job or floor do you work on.

Acute Rehab hospital - Brain injury unit...so it is interesting

Thankfully, no.

4. If not, how long did it take you to find a job?

Oh, about seven months.

4. If not, how long did it take you to find a job? I have been applying since I graduated in May, so it took almost 4 months.

I graduated in May 2010

I got my ADN and start working towards BSN in January 2011.

I'm not looking for work.

My job was in the works before I graduated, but I didn't start until Aug. 18th.

I was able to get my job because I got a job as a nurse assistant last summer. I'm on a med/surg floor of a teaching hospital, fourtunately on the same unit that I was a NA. During my orientation, about 35 of the 41 new hires were new grads and 4-7 of them were from my school. There are lots of people from my class that haven't found jobs yet, and a couple who took LTC jobs, though they weren't their first choice.

2. do you have a bsn or adn? adn

3. are you still looking for work? nope, i already had a job on cardiopulmonary unit as a cna and ijust transitioned into an rn position.

4. if not, how long did it take you to find a job?

5. if you don't mind my asking, those who are working, what type of job or floor do you work on. see #3 :)

i had a really short orientation and the floor i work on is very hard...but i love it!!

3. Are you still looking for work? Yes, but I just started applying, I was waiting on my NCLEX results...just got them and passed. But there were several people from my class that already have jobs!!
