3. Thank you bunches!!!
4. Thank you, all the practice HESI exams that I've found include math, English and such...am I looking under the wrong test?
5. Amazing, thank you bunches for creating this!! I take my HESI test this Friday so this is perfect!!!
6. Thank you! I understand why they do it and I don't mind...just another step I have to take to achieve my goal :) I've been studying a NCLEX review book thankfully! I was just hoping someone else could give me some more info on the test. Thanks for the encouragement!!
7. Hi!! I recently submitted my package to RN school through Rose State College. They notified me that the school I went to in TX for my LVN was not nationally accredited so I would need to take a LPN Challenge Exam. The exam is this coming Friday and I'm super nervous. I'm a school nurse so I haven't been in a hospital setting in about 5 years. I've rememorized lab values and such...but I'm having a hard time studying for this test. I can't find info on the test anywhere. Has anyone else had to take it? Can you suggest some areas I need to study for? Did you find this exam hard? I know I need to make an 850 to pass. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you fellow nurses!!!
8. Can you please help me with a nursing dx with the following scenario? Chip Ireland is 35 years old and works as a businessman. He was admitted to the outpatient surgery center for a tonsillectomy. He indicates that he has recurrent tonsillitis for the last three years. You observe that he has difficulty swallowing and coughs up the water. He states, My throat is too sore; it feels like it is swollen.” Upon examination, you note the presence of redness and edema in the operative area
9. Thank you so much for your help, that one paragraph is all the info that is given in this case study.
10. I'm taking my first online class and there really hasn't been any direction so I'm a little frustrated. We are given these case studies and I'm having a hard time picking out the correct nursing diagnosis. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!! #1 I'm deciding between Hyperthermia or Tissue Integrity, Impaired can you tell me if I'm on the right track?? A 26-year-old young man was admitted per ambulance to the emergency room with a stab wound and underwent emergency surgery. He has a closed abdominal wound and the dressing was clean and dry when he is transferred to the nursing unit. Additional assessment data include: multiple abrasions to the face, hands, and arms, ecchymosis to his left eye, plus multiple minor wounds from stabbing attempts. His temperature is 100.5°F. Skin warm and dry; Foley output 520 ml for last 2 hours.
11. So I just got hired on as the new school nurse at an Elementary school...YEA!!! Now the Boo part: before I was hired my family & I scheduled our family vacation and it just happens to be during registration. My principal was really nice about it & just told me to put together a check list for someone to follow. So I have a million questions...but here are a few. (oh, where to start!). 1. Does every student need to bring Immunization records even previous students?2. Are the asthma care plans done at that time or when parents bring medications?3. What does your registration process consist of? Thank you for your help!!
12. Thank you so much for your encouragement!! Hopefully I'll find a groove & get into the swing of things a couple weeks in :). I went shopping for a few things yesterday. They are repainting my office next week, then I can get in there & organize!!
13. The school is not that big K-5th, but there are quite a few students who take meds. Right now I have the PRN's & dailys on separate shelves in plastic bags. I'm aware of the label/container laws. I just feel that the plastic bags the previous nurse used would always be disorganized & out of alphabetical order. So I'm trying to figure out a new system. the office is such a mess right now...registration is a couple weeks away so I'm hoping to have it in order by then. I'm nervous about all the paper work as I've never done any of the beginning of the year stuff!!
14. Hello fellow nurses!! I just accepted a job as a school nurse for an elementary school. I subbed for this school the last 30 days of the school year & the previous nurse was there forever!! The office is so full of stuff & despritly needs to be reorganized & cleaned out. Her medication distribution was out of plastic baggies and I would like a new method. I have tried to find some web sites, but have failed to find one for organizing a school nurse office. Can anyone recommend one or tell me your method. Also any advice you can give me for my first year would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you bunches!!!
