PVT IS DEAD! Don't try the "new" trick

Published

The PVT was never meant to happen. It was not some trick invented to give us results before the 48 hour quick results were ready, it was a computer glitch that allowed us the peace of mind of finding out early if we most likely passed. Therefore it is no surprise that PV found a way to fix it. Those of us who are already licensed got lucky. New testers are not likely to have that sort of luck.

There is a new trick circulating that basically says you can still get the good popup if you try to pay. There is a problem with this, if you put in your credit card information and it allows you to pay, there is NO REFUND if you actually passed. The PVT was never 100% accurate, and false fails were more prominent than false passes. So if you put in your CC and it takes it, there is around a 5% chance that you passed and you just paid 200$ for an inaccurate trick.

Those in states that allow quick results will have to wait 48 hours. It is 48 terrible mind numbing frightening hours, but it's worth it not to pay for a new registration. Those in states not participating in quick results, you should call your BON after 48 hours and try to re-register on the phone. They should stop you if you passed.

The trick was a sanity saver for thousands, and it is sad to see it go, but it was inevitable that it was going to eventually get fixed.

UPDATE

As of October 2016, many people are still reporting that the PVT TRICK still works.

I posted something snarky originally, realized I was tired, and retracted.

OP, please read through any TWO of the roughly 27,102 threads on this topic, and you'll feel better :)

The PVT is no longer; there are some other possible "tricks" in store, but as always the most reliable source of "did you pass' is your own State BON.

Good luck!

I have absolutely (and I do mean 100%) no idea how this got posted on this thread. I was responding to ANOTHER thread last night.....did something MERGE on here?! Totally weird.

And now this post makes NO sense, LOL.....sorry folks! It did when I posted it!

On August 25, 2014, I recently took my NCLEX. A few hours after taking my exam I tried to do the Pearson Vue Trick, aka the PVT. In order for the trick to work, the status of your results has to say: "Delivery Successful" or "Taken" (this is what I got). If it doesn't say that, it will ask you for your credit card information. I kept checking and I didn't get the good pop up. I was afraid that I failed. YOU HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL IT SAYS TAKEN/DELIVERY SUCCESSFUL. Pearson Vue changed their website and changed the trick. They probably figured out that everyone was talking about it and it wasn't a secret anymore!

Now it says Taken

You have to register

You have to put in your credit card information; unlike before it didn't go to the page; you would get the good pop up

WARNING: If you put your credit card info in; they may accept it (I didn't try it) and you can't get your $200 back! and then you find out you passed!

If you put your credit card info in; they don't accept - you passed

if you put it in; they do accept it - you failed

BUT THERE'S ALWAYS A RISK THAT YOU DID PASS AND YOUR CREDIT CARD WAS ACCEPTED. NO REFUND. be careful.

I just waited. I wasn't able to the do the trick. I couldn't sleep, but hey I passed with 80 questions!

Thank god for your post! I tried the Pearson Vue Trick and it kept asking for my credit card information, I thought I failed. So I did some research and saw your post. I was afraid of paying another $200, with no refund, and if I pass I wouldn't get it back. I would just wait the 48 hours, and I did, and I passed. They changed the whole website the weekend before I took the exam. I took it August 25 and found out my results August 27 :) Good luck everyone!

This should be merged with one of the other threads on the same subject. The PVT threads keep having babies...wink ; ()

Let correct my statement in my experience with my friends and I is that the 5 of us that passed were not charged but the 2 friends that failed was charged. Its just a trick its not 100%. Nobody is saying its 100%. Duh that's why it's called a trick geez

WRONG! This is an untrue statement. There have been some who were charged and passed, and some who were not charged and failed.

The "trick" is just a trick. It is not accurate, and you do risk losing $200.

Please go read my other statement. Its called a trick for a reason. You take your chances its not 100% no one ever said it was

In my experience with 7 of us 5 that passed were NOT charged but the 2 that failed were charged. Of course nothing is 100% with this trick. I haven't seen the 2 people the person say were charged on this forum.

Yeah, lots of people claim it is accurate--read the hundreds of posts on AN alone. But it's not accurate. We keep repeating this so that persons new to a thread see that it is not and fully understand the risks associated with a silly 'trick' that is not accurate, and has the potential for high cost. People who PASSED have been charged.

Do you know what is 100% accurate? Getting early results for $8 from Pearson Vue in just 48 hours. So, risk $200, pay $8, or get your accurate BON results absolutely FREE.

Considering how broke nursing students usually are, to use your own term, well DUH! :sarcastic:

I'll be interested in reading the results of that thesis. Personally, I put my money on nature: the evil red dye and MMR vaccines just HAVE to really cause SOMETHING.

i totally did quick results because I knew it wasn't 100% accurate. not all Nursing students are broke but I totally understand not wanting to take that chance but these people are adults and they know what chances they are taking. I took my chances. i couldn't blame any one but myself if I was charged then finding out I passed.. But I'm just thinking God I Passed and hoping for adults the best for everyone else on this forum.. thank you for trying to help people. Night
