PVT IS DEAD! Don't try the "new" trick

Published

The PVT was never meant to happen. It was not some trick invented to give us results before the 48 hour quick results were ready, it was a computer glitch that allowed us the peace of mind of finding out early if we most likely passed. Therefore it is no surprise that PV found a way to fix it. Those of us who are already licensed got lucky. New testers are not likely to have that sort of luck.

There is a new trick circulating that basically says you can still get the good popup if you try to pay. There is a problem with this, if you put in your credit card information and it allows you to pay, there is NO REFUND if you actually passed. The PVT was never 100% accurate, and false fails were more prominent than false passes. So if you put in your CC and it takes it, there is around a 5% chance that you passed and you just paid 200$ for an inaccurate trick.

Those in states that allow quick results will have to wait 48 hours. It is 48 terrible mind numbing frightening hours, but it's worth it not to pay for a new registration. Those in states not participating in quick results, you should call your BON after 48 hours and try to re-register on the phone. They should stop you if you passed.

The trick was a sanity saver for thousands, and it is sad to see it go, but it was inevitable that it was going to eventually get fixed.

UPDATE

As of October 2016, many people are still reporting that the PVT TRICK still works.

No one drilled the expectation of using a 'glitch' into your head except YOU.

Jeez, it's like being angry that someone repaired the hole in the fence where you used to take the short cut. Get over it, you were trespassing anyway. The sidewalk is only 20' further away.

Is it really something to get so upset over? Don't you wait for Xmas and special holidays? Think of it that way...

I just love this so much. It is a perfect analogy. We had a gift that we appreciated. PV probably had to end it. I mean really... We're supposed to get results from our BON. I'm sure they were pressured to fix this. I'm surprised it took as long as it did, and I'm more surprised a glitch might still exist. I doubt very much any bit of this has to do with money, and if you get charged the $200 even though you passed, I hate to say it, but goodness that was a dumb thing to do. You knowingly click submit.

This reminds me of the "two week wait" in the world of fertility/infertility. God knows the anxiety of it is overwhelming.

Two the person who said the 48 hours feels like days, I had to LOL. 48 hours actually is days. Two of them.

My results are available for purchase on Pearson.

They aren't available on Florida Boards.

Are you going to go ahead and pay for it? I'm scared!!!

I'd pay. Mine are not ready for purchase yet AND my BON didn't update their site yet...I'm worried

What do you mean they didn't update their site? Which state did you test in?

IL the first time it took 24 hrs this time I still don't have anything...did you check your quick results?

I took mine in FL this morning for the first time. + 30 SATA questions and cut off at 75. I have to know, but I don't want to lose $200. I am in a glass cage of emotion right now. It sucks to be the first people to have to experience the risks of the new trick. It seems like it works, but $200 is a lot of money. I am ranting on here right now to distract me from clicking submit on the other tab. HALP

I paid for the results on Pearson and it said "Unofficial Results- Fail" …. :-/ I am in shock. This is my second time taking it and I just don't know what to do differently. I studied Kaplan but now I guess I need to look into another program. This is awful.

Wow so the trick is officially dead.

There is someone in another forum (chellelvn) who tried the trick and was charged. It worked for myself and 2 others that did it. Nothing is a solid 100% except for seeing the words PASSED. Some believe and some do not, it may be "debunked", to you but ,to others it's not. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion

Has anyone been charged and then received their fail on quick results? Or is it not letting anyone pay when there is a test pending?

So far no one has paid hence the skepticism shown by many.

Im right there too. I took mine for LVN in CA on the 25th and we don't have the quick results available to us. I don't actually have the $200 to spend if it does go through. It stopped at 85 and I honestly cant remember the last question at all =) There's nothing I can do about it now so I might as well relax for two weeks before I either celebrate or start hitting the books again =)
