  1. I received this scholarship last year and like your counselor said cancel the loan. They will send tuition to your school in October. Your school won't charge you late fees etc. because this scholarship is very widely known and once you are changed from Applicant to Participant the ball is rolling. Congrats!
  2. I use the Sharpie pens, more like fine tipped markers (don't indent paper) in the multicolor pack I have 12 with 10 different colors. Love being able to color code my notes/report. Makes it easier to read for me.
  3. Been riding since 2010 when I passed the safety course. I have a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250r I have had since starting. I love my bike, wish I got to ride more but work/life keeps me busy and I live pretty far to use it as a commuter vehicle. Love riding and plan on updating to a cruiser at some point.
  4. Wash mine with other clothes, I feel like I shouldn't but well. I don't do laundry for about a month so it's whatever by the time I get to it.
  5. Try the Prestige Medical watches! Got mine Dec 2013 as a Christmas gift wore it to clinical and wear it every work shift now. It's very flush to the wrist and allows for movement without getting caught on bedding or anything. Has military time on the face and wipes with alcohol/sani-wipes with no issues. It is definitely water resistant and it's inexpensive. Comes in many colors, I have purple. Amazon.com: Prestige Medical Nurse Cyber Scrub Gel Watch - Purple: Health & Personal Care
  6. Sign up for Pay As You Earn and allow them to reduce your student loan payments. $825 is steep, and unless you have dual income or are making EXCELLENT money and have no other bills (insurance, rent/mortgage etc.) it is going to be rough! Coming from another new grad with student loan debt
  7. Also more people than less start out slow. Seasoned nurse have their routines, and my preceptors made it very clear to me that it will take time for me to get my own routine and create a system that allows me to get my work done on time and get to lunch on time. I would say keep at it and keep asking questions while also being as self-directed as possible. I am sure it will work out if you focus hard.
  8. Were they looked poorly upon for doing so? For reference purposes
  9. Also for reference purposes Barco creates Grey's Anatomy so if you find anything in their NRG or ICU collection at discount it will be well worth it! The quality is very high in their line. I got mine on discount and paid around $190 for 8 sets when they are usually $25-35 a piece! Check it out you won't regret it.
  10. I wear ICU by Barco and find they are very neat and look well put together. I do think some of the higher priced brands (Grey's, Koi, Barco) all are great quality and don't fade terribly and hold up to washes well after I researched. I have a cheap pair of scrubs and the fit alone makes a difference in my over all appearance. Fit is important because scrubs cut too big or that are too tight tend to look sloppy.
  11. Grey's Anatomy/ICU by Barco are all I have and I love them...ordered the tall and they fit perfectly and their tops still give a nice feminine silhouette...
  12. I think it is a viable option, I have never had any serious weight problem (always little for my size) but I do understand how the treatment is an option. Even with gastric bypass the chance of going back to regular eating habits is the same. But the same goes in regard to long term effects. The possibilities are endless for effects that could happen after the treatment.
  13. Saunders is great for content review, Kaplan is great for actually learning how to answer NCLEX-style questions...just my opinion. I read the entire Saunders book and after reading would do the Kaplan questions on each focused section then do the Saunders questions...I passed using that concept...
  14. I agree with AkulahawkRN, with having all 265 questions you were more than likely consistent in content and need to focus on your test taking skills and determining what each question is asking you. When you get your CPR in the mail try to focus more on the areas you were below or near passing in.
  15. To address the topic of this post, the reason is because of his dementia. His disease process is what makes his behavior a bit challenging. I agree with the other posters about seeking professional workshops because I would like to believe that if you knew more about how the disease affected his behavior, your response would not have been the way it was. It is unprofessional to respond to him in the manner you did and you in a way threatened him. Please be wiser about the way you interact with patients, but if you really don't know how to seek assistance.
