The News earlier tonight shared that Hope Hicks became ill Wednesday night, and tested today and COVID-19 positive --per President Trump's confirmed tweet tonight. A few hours later, he confirmed the First Lady and he tested positive and are now in quarantine.

There is are not people who will never get COVID and the idiots who will get COVID. When the latter gets it, what will they say then?
OK, but you understand that there’s a difference between random folks on the street bragging about being COVID negative 5 months ago (?) and the president, who has minimized the seriousness of the pandemic and mocked measures to lessen the severity of it, who has put the people around him at risk by promoting unsafe practices (secret service, reporters covering him all getting sick). He is in a position to lead by example and protect those who must work closely with him and he didn’t, and now not only is he sick but his many, many close contacts are all at risk too.
In a discussion thread about the president and the covid cluster that is centered around his activities, I’m not sure why you’re bringing up these people who are supposedly taking pride in months’ old tests. Yes, it’s possible to get covid with social distancing and mask use. But Trump used neither and has contributed to the politicization of following public health guidelines and has encouraged unsafe behaviors. Aside from putting those in close proximity to him at risk continuously, he’s had a directly negative affect on the pandemic’s course in the us.

Yet this thread is also about a president who dismisses guidelines and some have a "I told you so " attitude. A cluster can happen even if a person does follow the rules, unlike the president has. That is what I am getting at. I am not going to have a false sense of COVID security just because I am around someone who always wears a mask and says Trump is not doing a good job.

He didn’t get sick despite following public health guidance though. He actively undermined and dismissed that advice and explicitly and implicitly encouraged others to do so as well.
He went to the fundraiser AFTER learning that Hicks had symptoms.
Good for you for not having a false sense of security but I don’t recall that “saying Trump is not doing a good job” being on any list of actions we can take to reduce the spread of COVID. There are people who have a false sense of security, and then there are people who take no precautions and intentionally engage in high risk behaviors that harm others and in Trump’s case, people who actively hamper the pandemic response.

...not to mention that Trump, who has sabotaged and been dismissive of testing programs, is in a veritable "testing bubble" of staff and people going to the White House. Hypocrisy? Irony? Or just a karmic mixture of both...
Add Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin to list of Covid positive cases but he wasn't at the Barrett nomination ceremony. Unlike Democratic senators, Senate Republicans meet three times a week for lunch. With the 3 Senators out sick and don't return till later in the month, prevents Barrett from being confirmed to the Supreme Court until they return -- which may not occur until after November 3rd election in a lame-duck session.
Hoping President Trump is feeling better today.
