President Trump and the First Lady Test COVID Positive

The News earlier tonight shared that Hope Hicks became ill Wednesday night, and tested today and COVID-19 positive --per President Trump's confirmed tweet tonight. A few hours later, he confirmed the First Lady and he tested positive and are now  in quarantine.

I seriously doubt this would happen if this was just a fake publicity stunt.

There's speculation that means his symptoms are more than just "mild" or "moderate", although it could just be that being the President he's going to receive much more aggressive care.  But the WH has also revealed that he has been given an experimental monoclonal antibody treatment, which under the EUA can only be given to patients are determined to have "life-threatening symptoms".  It's certainly not unlikely that his treatment isn't following the FDA requirements.

I don’t doubt it a bit.  Congress and the president have the best socialist healthcare available.  If you’re willing to lie for no reason at all, lying for sympathy when you’re behind isn’t even a stretch.

I begin thinking of the ethical considerations of him getting all the experimental treatments right now compared to my patients who are only getting plasma and remdesivir after they are tubed and sent to me ? then again, I don’t know if getting all the treatments is good or bad yet. will be interested to see how it unfolds

The senators are critical members of the Senate Judiciary Committee and attended Amy Coney Barrett’s Supreme Court nomination announcement on Saturday at the White House; which I suspect was spreader source of  infection. as it fits in with post-exposure COVID infection timeline symptom development.

There is also the issue that masks alone will fully protect you. Most of the people I know from work who tested positive were the ones who went out and paid $$ for a mask or always wore a N95 under a surgical mask.  You can test positive and end up contracting COVID 2hrs later, while having the false confidence that you are negative.  Very few people gets tested on a frequent basis. Who has the time for that or the resources?

I don't like that some walk around all high and mighty with a "I always wear a facemask,  I will NEVER get COVID!" Nope, you chances decrease they are not eliminated

Over 11,427 District residents have tested positive for COVID-19 and tragically 580 District residents have lost their lives already due to COVID-19. Further, transmission is widespread in the Maryland and Virginia areas near Washington, DC, and even more prevalent in numerous “hot zones” around the country. Transmission is facilitated by persons who are asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic.

3. Dr. Robert Redfield, the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the World Health Organization, and the District of Columbia Department of Health are all agreed that wearing masks when social distancing is impossible to maintain can reduce the spread of the disease dramatically.
