Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

If Trump were in office, the statistics would have been much worst. 40,000,000 guns were sold in the USA in 2020 and mostly to people who had to prove nothing except that they were breathing and could pay for the purchase. Imagine if T were able to stir them up to incite violence.

I heard a theory on the reason for CNN, more specifically, Jake Tapper's ratings dropping off a cliff.
Liberals are embarrassed by Biden. They don't really want to see him, or see someone like Tapper defend him. The deafening silence here backs up that theory.
Well, I'll break the deafening silence about Biden's whispering. "Yawn".
Cable ratings are down since Trump left office. Including Fox, which however, continues to dominate ratings.
Fox News was on in a patient's room and they were talking about Trump's great rollout of the vaccine. I was wondering why they are still covering this story from last year. I would rather them focus on the idea of the lower rates of vaccinated persons in Trump territory. But whatever, their agenda is clear.
When Trump bragged about the ratings drops after he left the White House, Tapper's response was:
" If I had incited and inspired a deadly insurrection and attempt to undo American democracy I might not be out there bragging about how many viewers it had. On any channel. But maybe that’s just me, I’m a different breed of cat."
There might be some liberals embarrassed by Biden, but you'll find many more that find him so much more refreshing than the brash, bragging, arrogant Trump including myself. That wouldn't have bothered me so much for his frequent lying.

I think this would also include a lot of liberals that want an assault weapon ban and other stricter gun control laws. However, I think during crime spikes in general people are mistrusting of the government handling the situation...they just buy more guns.

Apparently Beerman doesn't follow anything that's not driven by right wing sentiment...

Please provide a source, or at least some rationale and logic to back up your opinion. How and why would gun violence would be worse if Trump were still in office?

"U.S. President Joe Biden has seen an erosion in support since April, mainly from fellow Democrats, as his administration wrestles with Congress to make good on campaign promises and more Americans worry about an uneven economic recovery, Reuters/Ipsos polling shows."

Even if this was true, it only goes to show that we hold our politicians accountable and doesn't allow them to foment insurrections or rape women or engage in racism and murder etc!

During the last year of the Trump Presidency, murder surged in 2020 as the start of the Covid pandemic occurred. Fully believe that if a different rhetoric coming from the oval office occured, country would be less riled up, especially families with angst due to opposite ends of the political spectrum.
