Wow. No one has started such a thread yet?
After promising that most K-8 students would be in schools in the first 100 days, apparently Joe is afraid to lead on this and has drastically scaled back that goal.
Instead, we're shooting for about half to go to school at least one day a week, by the end of April.

Yes, it was this morning.
LOL
So we're supposed to be surprised that a Trump supporter would ridicule modeling safe public behavior during a deadly pandemic that trashed populations, health systems and economies across the globe? That's a good laugh for a Monday morning.

Yes the Fauci statement is on Fox's website now and wasn't yesterday when NYT and CNN reported it. It's a fairly decent matter of fact reporting without any digs about his trustworthiness.
It was stated from day one all over the media to continue to wear a mask until more people are vaccinated and herd immunity is within site.
As far as people whining about "why should we get vaccinated if we still have to wear a mask", I just don't know what to say about such stupid people. But if you think that's what they are saying when they see public officials with a mask on then I won't belabor the point.
Kind of gives me that old dejected feeling about American society when I hear this kind of stuff.

With all the hell we've been through this past year, this is what you are focused on? Is this all the far right has to offer us in ideas? Nancy Pelosi wore a mask OUTSIDE! Let's get the thought police right on it!
I didn't get the memo that we are only allowed to make posts about what gets our panties in a wad and can't post about less significant things.
The poster didn't even say his panties were in a wad, but was using that as an example of how they get their message across, I.e. "propaganda". I happen to agree that them modeling mask behavior is indeed a form of them getting their message out that masks are still important.

Claiming that messaging through behavior somehow rises to the level of propaganda, however, is either disingenuous or dishonest or ignorance.
QuoteDefinition of propaganda
1capitalized : a congregation of the Roman curia having jurisdiction over missionary territories and related institutions
2: the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person
3: ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one's cause or to damage an opposing cause - also : a public action having such an effect
What damage to what opposing cause does public mask wearing represent? Or picking a flowering plant on camera to give to your spouse? Suggesting that such behavior is example of propaganda is nonsense. Trump supporters like to misuse and redefine words, they do it routinely. Isn't it interesting that propaganda 101 is involved in redefining commonly used words for the gullible? Do propagandists project and lie?

The poster the other day suggested he only occasionally pops in to make brief comments because he is busy with other things.
Yet, he actually makes several comments each day, and has time to attend meetings of far-right groups.
I just find that interesting.
I don't think accused you of anything. Just made the observation you seem quick to pounce on the keyboard when I post.

Maybe you should start a thread since it's a source of interest sparking your comments. We visit AN where we comment and respond to comments. Sometimes you make quite a few comments. You have shared info from what others might consider far right groups. Your comments often get replies from multiple members. I don't see the area of interest, but you do you.

Haha.....tell me about how I am the "far right". You know far less about me then you think. But of course its much easier and makes you feel better to group all of us into one deplorable group of citizens.
I didn't say YOU were far right. I said your sources were from the far right. I have no idea how "far" you are but I do know that you aren't skeptical enough about what you read. But since the sources you do quote seem to be legit to you, you must be encoding the baloney you are being fed. You tend to want to believe over simplifications and reject nuance. You strike me as a black and white kind of thinker. I'm way too old to think like that anymore.

FWIW, I mask outside as well if I’m interacting with others. I’m 71 years old, work in LTC where we had an outbreak (more than half our census died) last fall and am not fully vaccinated yet. Too many Covididiots around, courtesy of wingnut media, so will keep my mask, thank you!
I cannot imagine the emotional toll losing half your census to Covid, Heron. It makes the "how dare you wear a mask" issue so trivial by comparison.
To address this more generally. I'm fully vaccinated, but there are quite a few fragile-appearing elderly people walking in my neighborhood. Most of them are still wearing masks. I still wear one when I'm out walking because I think it may be reassuring to them in some way.
To those who object to that, oh well.

I never wore my mask outdoors because I didn't have to be in crowds but, I have to say, I am trying it for pollen and it actually works. I sneeze more inside now than I do outside:)

OT alert: yes, traumatic ain’t the half of it. We were Covid-free until late last October. Then a particularly irresponsible staffer took a vacation out of state, neglected to test on her return and then came back to work sick. By the time we knew she was infected, she had already worked three shifts. We were using surgical face masks so we could keep the few N95s and KN95s we could get for those on actual precautions (new admits, returns from hospital, etc., were all on precautions for two weeks) Within ten days all the residents and most of the staff were infected. At one point I was one of two nurses still able to work.
The covidiots’ argument that this twit had some sort of constitutional right to do this kind of damage - 34 residents dead and 4 or 5 in ICU for extended stays, most of our bedside workers infected, many sick and all endangering their own families - holds no water with me!
End of derail ...
