"Do we have to know this for the test?"

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

:trout: Oh my GAWD!!! I hate this questions from my classmates. The teachers could be all in really going with the lecture and one classmate always ask this STUPID question. I am sorry there goes the saying, "There are no stupid questions." That is indeed stupid.

I am also finding that some of my classmates want the teacher to "spoon feed" what to write on their notes. I am thinking we are in college people. High School days are gone!:smackingf . This one student want the teacher to slow down so she can write every word coming out of the teacher's mouth. We have a 6PM class, one student said, you need to slowdown because I am tired and I have been here since 12PM.:flamesonb I am thinking, I have been up since 5:30AM, handled kids, worked, fought 50 minutes traffic, and I am here prepared.

I am sorry, just a little ticked. I had to vent, now I feel better......:pumpiron:

Whenever someone asks this stupid question....I just wish the professor would reply with something like this....

"Not only would you want to know this for the exam...but you might want to know this so you don't KILL someone if and when you become a nurse."

Or

" Do you want to be a nurse? If the answer is yes....then yes you might want to know this for the exam"

Anytime i hear someone asking that question in my class,, i just want to say "no she's just up there teaching for ***** and giggles, y'all" lol.

We had one girl that everthing she would need to put her two cents in about she always had one story or another. She bragged that she was gonna be validictorion (how ever you spell it) needless to say she failed out on two subjects feel sorry she didnt make it but glad to not have to listen to her mouth anymore now the new first semester class does cuz she's back. good luck to her that she'll make it and noone it the class will kill her

I have 2 people in my class who think they know everything. I think if you know everything already why not just test out of the class. Why are you here trying to be the teachers pet? Let someone else answer a question. Stop trying to know what the teacher is going to say before he says it, and stop letting the teacher know he was right by saying mmm huh shaking your head yes. Stop answering questions when the teacher called on someone else. I hope they are going the education route, because they sure love to teach the class and as always teachers are needed as well as nurses.

i know exactly what you mean we also have a emt that thinks she knows everything too and she barely made it though first semester

That big vein in the middle of my forehead started to throb when I read this one. OMG!!!! What is with people like that!!! We had one in first term who didn't make it past math, she thought she was a gift in our class because she had been through almost five months of the program before and did not finish. She had the whole valedictorian dream and getting the best job of all of us in the class. I rarely root for people to fail but I just wanted to jump up on the chair, clap and sing when the Dean came in and asked her to get her things and exit the class. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That was satisfying, don't gloat and fail three classes all at one time!:nono: LOLOLOL

i've always wanted to reply:

That has to be the most embarrassing. At least when you're humble people are understanding.

And she was NOT humble. Kind of a loud know-it-all from the first day. :(

She did get back into the program the next year. Last I heard, she became the nurse manager in a local ER when she only had a couple years' nursing experience. :uhoh21: I have a feeling failing out didn't do make her any less humble!

It is frustrating... Isn't it??? My favorite question a few weeks ago was.... " How do you know if we are going to Lab if you don't take attendance?" (it is an independant lab that takes a minimum of at least 3 hours a week...

I was like... duh.. if you don't go you won't know what the crap is going on! We have 2- 50pt Lab Practicals and 4 -10pt quizzes.... What do you think?

And when we got to the part about hair growth in the Integumentary System..... Questions coming in about waxing, shaving, electrolysis.....What if I go to the tanning booth vs. direct sunlight..... I wanted to scream! This is not a beauty course....

Anyway... I wanted you to know that it is everywhere..... Just know that most of these people won't see it through to the end! Good luck!
