  1. i graduated Sept. 27.....took NCLEX Dec. 19.....Started my first day as an LPN Jan.9
  2. I start on May 27th.....3 semesters....summer, fall and spring...RN here I come Good Luck 2 u!!!!!!!!!
  3. oh i understand exactly what u mean, our situations are identical and its very frustrating to me....so im not gonna sit here and encourage LTC because I feel the same way u do. I took a job at this terrible nursing home and as soon as I put that on my resume I started getting call backs....I stayed at the nursing home 4 weeks. Yes those were longest 4 weeks of my life but now I'm at an assisted living facility. Yes its less money but I don't dred going to work and I come home with my sanity everyday. Had I known that LPN's are forced to work in LTC in my area I may not be one, so I will be going back for my RN just to gain more options because the ones I have right now really SUCK!
  4. I have applied to all the LPN openings I see in newspapers, gazettes, magazines, online and any hospital I can find in Maryland and Virginia. I have even registered with agencies and nothing has come through. Do you have any suggestions about where I should apply? Do u know a facility that hires new grads?
  5. After the stresses of LPN school and taking and passing the NCLEX on the first try I see no employers willing to hire new grad LPNs. Someone please tell me I didn't waste the last year of my life in LPN school to be denied the chance to gain the 1,2 0r 3 years experience that all the jobs I see are asking for. I have a MD compact state license and it seems as if I will not be able to practice nursing with it. Please anyone tell me....where are the job opps for new LPNs.....am I the only one with this problem?
  6. Micro starts on the 22nd for me and I must say I'm a bit nervous. I am taking it along with Sociology and an LPN program where we will be on MED/SURG and Pharmacology
  7. Thanks a lot guys you have helpes me a lot!!!!!! I have decided to drop Statistics. I'm gonna keep Micro and Sociology. Thanks alot for all the support and advice.
  8. :pumpiron: I have decided to take Micro, Statistics and Sociology at my University along with the Pharmacology, Med/Surg and Geriatric nursing at my Private LPN school this spring. As of right now (Fall 06) at the university i'm taking A&P2 along with A&P, Nutrition and Fundamentals at the Lpn schol. I'm doing very well in all of my classes but I don't have a clue about Statistics and Micro is a science which is always a bit more difficult. What do you guys think?????:chair:
  9. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!! And keep up the good work!
  10. OMG!!!LOL finally someone feels mt pain!
  11. I have 2 people in my class who think they know everything. I think if you know everything already why not just test out of the class. Why are you here trying to be the teachers pet? Let someone else answer a question. Stop trying to know what the teacher is going to say before he says it, and stop letting the teacher know he was right by saying mmm huh shaking your head yes. Stop answering questions when the teacher called on someone else. I hope they are going the education route, because they sure love to teach the class and as always teachers are needed as well as nurses.
  12. I'm 25 just starting LPN school and have a few more prereqs for the RN program. 26 is not too late many people are doing it much older then that. Just do it! You'll be pleased that you did.
  13. Well where I took my entrance exam to LPN school it was basic Math, English and Science. If you have completed high school and/or have taken gen. ed. college courses you should be fine. Does the book you have for Nursing School Entrance Exams have an LPN entrance exam section? The LPN entance exams are different, I took 2 different tests 1 was a little more difficult then the other but both schools said if you wanted to prepare for the exam get a GED test prep book. Well anyway GOOD LUCK I'm sure you'll do just fine.
  14. I will officially be an LPN student at 8:30 tomorrow morning. I'm excited and looking forward to Med/Surg clinicals. I know I have a ways to go before Med/Surg but I heard time flies in LPN school. 12 months to go!!!!!
