I thought I would make a thread dedicated to all of us waiting for an Acceptance letter, NET results, or even for those of you who are done waiting....getting ready to start up NS soon! Let's all band together and support one another in these stressful times~ no one understands us better than each other! Go future nurses!!!!
Hi guys I just found this post. I am also waiting for my acceptance letter into the ADN program. I am attending a community college in the Hampton Roads of Virginia. I recently declined an offer for the LPN program that was going to cost me $23,900. I think I made the right decision not to go there and continue to reach for my ADN in RN. Good Luck to all of you guys.
i'm in the lovely south florida!
Lucky you! How's the weather there? I'm in Missouri, where it is currently 43 degrees and just finally stopped raining after two days straight! Tomorrow is supposed to be 61 degrees...I'm hoping that's a correct forecast! Anyways, good luck with your nursing school. Let's stay in touch so we can compare our two programs when they start in May! :)
And to all the new posters, thanks for joining and I wish you all the best of luck and success! Have a great day everyone!!
New here...I've applied to Athens Tech ADN program for Fall '08. Letters are supposed to go out April 15th so not too much longer to wait. I have a 3.8 gpa and 99% on the NLN so I'm not extremely worried, but trying not to be overconfident either. I'm just ready to know something, kwim?
Anyone else here applying to ATC for the fall?

the weather here is beautiful, sunny with a cool breeze. too bad i spend most of my days indoor at work. thats a great idea we should keep in touch and compare our programs and experiences.
is any one else going crazy trying to get everything(paperwork, etc.) done b4 their program starts, now that u've been accepted?
congrats and good luck to everyone about to start their nursing journey and my fingers are crossed for everyone that is still waiting.
pre req's are all done, teas was okay, gpa 4.0, so it's just a waiting game. 54 slots with 104 apps. so I guess a 50-50 shot isn't too bad.
With a 4.0 and a good TEASs I bet your odds are much better than 50-50! It sounds like you are in a good position. Fingers crossed.
I am amazed at the programs that have 100 apps for 50 slots or so, that sounds great! The schools I applied typically have 800 apps for 100 slots, or 400-500 apps for 50 slots or whatever. It is hard not to feel hopeless, or at the least discouraged. I guess all you can do is all you can do. That and wait (and check the mail 10-12 times a day!) Good luck!
Ok, I feel like I am being tortured with the waiting!! I will not hear anything about whether I'm in for Fall 08 or waitlisted until 09 until late April or May...they won't even tell us when we can expect a letter.:uhoh21: So now I am officially going crazy...I am having dreams about CHECKING MY MAIL!!! Arrrghhh, NS is taking over my life and I don't even know if I'm in yet!
Congrats to everyone that has been accepted!! I have been on Allnurses for awhile, but not so much in this forum. I love this thread though. I have taken some of the pre-reqs and need to take several more classes. I am contemplating going for a private school (and trying to find a way to pay for it) or finishing my bachelors, and put myself on a waitlist. The waitlists around here are 3-5 years. If I complete my bachelors, then maybe I can apply for Accelerated BSN programs. Either way, I will be playing the waiting game for awhile...nice to know I am not the only one.
I'm really grateful this is here. I have been trying to accomplish this for a long time. I ended up a Surgical tech after I failed 2nd quarter nursing. I never saw it coming. I did GREAT first quarter. Everyone was commending me on such high test scores. Second semester rolls around ( this is back in 1994) and it is required to take pharmacology with nursing 110 or something or other.
I had, at the time, 3 small children and a newborn, folks! What was I thinking??!! I would be up in the middle of the night feeding the baby and reciting adverse reactions and drug classifications...! Besides that, it was a very tough quarter in terms of clinicals. We had a clinical spot where the nurses were ALL nurse Ratchett's!! All of us were in the bathroom early in the morning with diarreah and some were just plain sick because we had to report to these horrible people who clearly didn't want us there. Our instructor was even afraid of the charge nurse we were to report to. She complained many times...
A side bar to this, was we had too full of a nursing class. They needed to do something to weed us out. So regardless if I had done straight A's on my nursing exams, this thing they sprung up upon us on the FLY, would make or break you. They set up stations without warning of....nursing skills and a MATH LAB!! A math lab nobody studied for, knew about or was even on our syllubus!! If you failed ANY of these labs..you were OUT! No second chances, nothing. I failed the math lab because that was my weakest point...as any of you know that has read my other posts and this NET that is driving me batty!
It was just a way for them to get the nursing class reduced by about half, which is what they did.
I went out for about a year and a half to really enjoy my last baby. Then I decided I had to do something with the full load of prerequisites I had and I just waltzed right into the surg tech program and I've been doing that ever since. I've enjoyed surgery alot, it got me where I wanted to be. But this nursing thing will be hanging over my head forever, so I really wanted to do this for my personal accomplishment, to expand my horizans and prove I can do this thing once and for all. I fully intended on being a nurse. I will do this come hell or high water!!
thought this might be interesting to you out there as I feel your frustration and your pain. I am just praying they are over this now, will never pull such an unfair plot again. It was not a nice memory.
Good luck to us all!!
To those who just came on today and are waiting, I wish you the BEST of luck. You can do it. I was very lucky only having to wait a month and a half...but I remember how slowly each day went by as I checked my mail...like 10 times each day!!! :icon_roll Anyways, the wait is worth it when it says "Congratulations" at the top of your letter! You will be there sooner than you know it!
STalbott888, your story is inspiring, and I think it's a wonderful thing that you want to do this for YOU and I think you'll make a wonderful nurse. Good luck on all of your endeavors! Keep me posted.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE. KEEP ME AND EVERYONE ELSE POSTED!! I love hearing good news...and I know that everyone on here will get that! :)

Hi All,
It's so hard waiting, and I will continue to wait till the first week of may( I hope my mailbox can handle me checking it 10-12 times a day). pre req's are all done, teas was okay, gpa 4.0, so it's just a waiting game. 54 slots with 104 apps. so I guess a 50-50 shot isn't too bad.
