I thought I would make a thread dedicated to all of us waiting for an Acceptance letter, NET results, or even for those of you who are done waiting....getting ready to start up NS soon! Let's all band together and support one another in these stressful times~ no one understands us better than each other! Go future nurses!!!!
Hi allI came to wait and chew my nails with you guys. I applied last month to a CC program here close to home. This is my second app, as I applied last semester too. The first time I applied I made an 85 on my Hesi entrance, and still had some unfinished pre reqs. This time I made an 90. something on my hesi, and have finished all but dosage calc. I had something like 22 points last time, and now I have 34 so I am in much better shape.
The week of application deadline the college announced that it would be absorbing its sister schools applicants into our applicant pool, and reducing the amount of available slots by 10 so my excitment over having more points was blown away. Where I was feeling pretty confident now I have no clue where I stand.
The emails/letters go out the week of April 24 so I still have some waiting to do. I am a 38 year old mom of three so I really cant afford to wait much longer (I am sure many of you are in the same boat). I want in, and I want in NOW !!!! I have put my all into this, my family has sacrificed and put their faith in me, and all of my eggs are in one basket. I am so nervous.
In the mean time I am going this week to get my physical, and a bunch of the shots I will need. I am also going to take the one day CPR class that I need to take if I am accepted. They say your positive thoughts have energy to make things happen so I am going to move along like I have already gotten my acceptance letter. I also went to church for the first time in 15 years last weekend, and I am going back this weekend. I figure with my GPA, positive thoughts, and God they got to let me in ....RIGHT...ok stop laughing!!!!! You have to admit it can't hurt.
Anyway, we can wait together, and maybe it won't be as bad.
Coolpeach,
No, it cant hurt. It is natural for us humans to think we can do it all on our own. When we put our heart into something and really cant do anything else thats where God is up to something :). All I can say is that if you have faith... it can MOVE MOUNTAINS. He is faithful to those who are faithful! That is just ONE of his many promises! Just stay true to yourself and him... he will take care of it all. NO WORRIES. DON'T HOPE! Believe it and it is yours!!
Last year, exactly one year ago, my husband was in horrible car accident. To make super long story short... he had 6 fractures in his spine, fractured pelvis, fractured pubic bone, broken ribs, collapsed right lung, kidney failure, internal bleeding, laceration to his liver, at one point his whole system was shutting down and he went into cardiac arrest! Anyway, I went in that hospital with the staff telling me they were not sure if he was going to make it. I had my moments but overall I KNEW HE WAS GOING TO MAKE IT. That weekend was my birthday and we had been just married for one year! Well, he made it through all the surgeries (each of the 4 surgeries was a victory!). The doctors at this point thought he was going to be paralized. I knew in my heart that was not going to happen, I believed it. I was so calm and trusted fully in MY LORD the whole month he was in ICU. Finally, they said he will probably never be the same again but he will be able to walk again. Well he is playing soccer now, working full time, and has feeling in every inch of his body! He has never been better physically and spiritually! :redpinkhe:heartbeat:D
I just wrote a book. hahahahaaa
Heads up everyone!

You are very much welcome! I am sure we all have something to share with people and make a difference. Thats why we want to be nurses right?
Anyway, I am a little nervous this week as well. I am scheduled to take my HESI A2 this weekend for my local community college. If I pass, I can enroll this summer for pharmacology. Then if I do well I will be starting the ADN program this fall! Pease pray for me.
Blessings to you all!

I wish you the best of luck...but I think you'll do just fine! That's exciting if you do well on it!!! Let us know how it turns out for you!
Hello all!
I am also currently waiting to hear if accepted into my local CC about their ADN program, and (plan B) LPN program. They have 60 spots and have already had 700 applicants. I hope to get "the letter" in Mid-May.
I am also a mid 30's mother and wife, and fortunate to not have to work outside the home.
I'm also new to this site, and look forward to keeping track of everyone elses process of getting in to school.
