I thought I would make a thread dedicated to all of us waiting for an Acceptance letter, NET results, or even for those of you who are done waiting....getting ready to start up NS soon! Let's all band together and support one another in these stressful times~ no one understands us better than each other! Go future nurses!!!!
Hello! I just found this website/forum and I love it! It is so nice to see everyone being so supportive. With my busy schedule I have no time for friends, so my support system consists of my wonderful hubby and two lovely babies. (A very good support system though!) It would be wonderful to have people to talk to who understand what's going on in my life!
I am starting nursing in August and am so excicted! I only started working on my gen ed classes last fall, and quit working to do it. I have worked my butt off!!! Last semester I had 24 hours, I was determined to make it into nursing this year, and I did! This summer I'm taking gen ed classes for my BSN, so it will be another hectic semester, but I'm excited! It feels so good to be back in school after 8 yrs, (I'm 26) and actually want to be there instead of have to be there! Good luck to all of you!

Well, WELCOME and you will always find support on here. Congratulations on getting into nursing school...wow 24 credits in ONE semester?!? Our schools don't allow us to take more than 18...that's absolutely crazy...but good job! :) I start my nursing school on Monday!!! So, I've got two days left to enjoy my short "summer" break. (I had my last final on Wednesday this week...so that's less than a week of break! haha)...We already have homework for nursing school (read 5 chapters for Fundamentals of Nursing, do some definitions for Assessment, and I'm going to start taking down notes for Pathophysiology this weekend.) Enjoy your summer everyone! :)
I actually go to 2 different schools, so I can get away with that many credits. I have 22 hours this summer semester, and I'm hoping I'm not breaking any rules doing it. My nursing advisor had to sign off on an extra 6 hrs, on top of my 3 nursing hours, (introduction to nursing and dosage caluculations,) and she told me she was worried about that. I didn't tell her I was already taking 13 hrs at another university. I read the rule book and it doesn't say anything about getting in trouble for takng more classes, and I'm not taking extra when my full time nursing classes start. I'm just in a hurry to get thru everything!
I hope your finals went well, and hope your nursing classes are going well, mine start on Monday! I'm so excited! Keep us updated on your progress!

Wow, good for you!! That's so crazy....I complain about 15 credits this summer...but wow, you're dedicated...that'll make me stop complaining now haha!! My finals went quite well. I was pleased with those results. I'm almost done with my third week of nursing school now...and it is the most stressful thing I have ever done...already! It's fun and interesting, don't get me wrong. You will meet some great people, too. It's just the amount of time and studying required to do well is more than I ever have had to do...but I'm okay with that. I have a pathophysiology test tomorrow, a quiz in fundamentals of nursing tomorrow, I had a return demo today on vital signs, and friday I have a final attempt at my medication (injections) post test...and if I don't pass it I fail that class (fundamentals)....but WHEN I do pass it (because I won't let myself fail...) I then have to do my return demo for medications including injections. Anyways...that's my rant/rave about it all. Good luck to you, I'm sure you'll do just fine with the dedication to school you have already. Keep me updated!! :)
