QuoteThe use of such rhetoric, opponents of the new laws argue, underscores a nationwide push by conservatives to make education a political wedge issue by equating certain teaching materials and educators with Mediaography and even pedophilia. This latest trend is another volley in the country’s ongoing culture wars, during which conservative lawmakers also have opposed the teaching of “critical race theory” and proposed bills requiring schools to post all course materials online so parents can review them.
I think this is just another example of conservative Americans getting agitated by right wing rhetoric and propaganda.
Here's a video compilation and represention of how emotional and aggressive these agitated people are.
Here is a list of books under fire from conservatives. Does anyone know of any other compilation of those titles?

We are not talking about "far right Christian Conservatives" o the religion of any of the parents. In particular, Dearborn, the original video posted to this thread, has Muslium parents there as well. So it's not just "far-right Christian conservatives" who take issue with inappropriate illicit sexual material being available to children.
Now you are talking about MTG? Who has nothing to to do with with the topic. So more deflection.
Might I add, Ilhan Omar still has her job despite her blatant anti-semitism and semi- terrorist group sympathizing.....

I wish they would spend a little of that time and energy addressing child abuse and sexual exploitation among, say American nazis, religious cults (of whatever persuasion) or media sponsorship (aka the advertising and PR industries).

Who are these "American Nazis"? Please do cite some sources for that. I definitely do not accept child abuse from anyone, so it would be helpful for you to clarify.

I think the point is people tend to spend a significant amount of concern for child abuse in homosexuals. And the Catholic Church scandal proves there is same sex abuse. But they also don't seem to show the same concern for other groups. Helping out a trans teen is child abuse, taking a child to drag book reading hour is child abuse, reading that Heather has two mommies is grooming them to a deviant lifestyle. Some of that energy should be spent looking in the mirror.

Why do you keep insisting that there is some political relevance to the presence of Muslims at the Dearborn school board meeting? You earlier implied that they are likely liberals and now you offer them as evidence that it's not just conservatives angry about books. Do you believe that Muslims tend to be social liberals?

Okay just so I’m clear all he said was that’s effing bs?? And that’s in response to shelving his issue with Media in books. Hmmm
yes I think it was a bit aggressive for the school to try to ban him from picking up his kids and attending their xtra curricular activities.
I’m not a fan of judges but at least they got this one right.

I guess it's a matter of perspective. Who cares if its labeled Media or not, but I'm at a loss as to why a novel with drawings depicting ejaculation in another's mouth needs to be in a school library.

I see what you are saying. I think what happens sometimes is that the parents that actually do associate LGBTQ with child abuse' (dumb ignorant imbeciles) are discussed more in some media. So it seems like all these parents think the same thing. Or there is many parents that do , and I do not think that is the case. I can't speak for everyone and this is my own experience, the parents I've talked to do not associate child abuse exclusively to LBGTQ.
It's been known for a while now about the abuse of the Catholic Church and their cover up. It has been addressed to some point at least. This topic is some what newer. Discussing one problem doesn't mean that the other problem is being ignored. Just because we treat the kidneys, doesn't mean we do not care about the liver type idea.
If parents or anyone objects to LGBTQ then that's their prerogative. If they want to teach their children that is against their morals and/or religion, then unfortunately, that's their right. They also look ridiculous whether they see that or not.
However, teaching hate or discrimination is not acceptable ever. And I still think the post was a deflect LOL.

I'm not assuming there is a political relevance. I used them as an example to your posts that give the impression that it is only angry magaphiles that go to school board meeting or object to the material in question. I had to make a note that there were Muslium parents there as well because I'm sure you wouldn't, and did not until I pointed it out.

I'm at a loss that the primary issue is the parents behavior and their political affiliation, not the fact that the book had those vulgar illustrations in the school library. And the lack of concern of how it got there.

You must not actually read my comments. If you had you would understand that two of the Muslims at that Dearborn meeting are my relatives and they identify as social and political conservatives.
No one except you said or implied that only angry MAGAphiles were at the meeting. Not all conservatives are MAGAphiles.
