Hello all, I am curious to see what the current pay rate is across the country so we can better prepare ourselves and negotiate better salaries! Please try to keep this poll to any graduates after 2010. Thanks!

What is the tax rate in CA? I am in CO, and after I pay my tax, health insurance and retirement I am only taking home 70% of my income... :(

I'm not sure of the exact numbers but you should be able to find some estimates online. I can tell you for sure though that after all of the aforementioned you'd be taking home significantly less than 70%. Also take into account that a decent home out here can run 700K+ easily. Please don't come to California looking for a big paycheck. The market is flooded with nurses and it's really not all it's made out to be.

Specializes in NICU.

KS

$18.00/hr

New grad

L&D

I moved here for the job (I couldn't find anything in my home state of CA), and was surprised at the high cost of living! You would think, with this starting salary, that rent/food/gas/utilities, etc, would be well below average, but they aren't. There are so many hurdles for new grads!
