Hello all, I am curious to see what the current pay rate is across the country so we can better prepare ourselves and negotiate better salaries! Please try to keep this poll to any graduates after 2010. Thanks!
1) State
2) Hourly Salary
3) Experience, if any
4) Specialty, if any
Here's mine:
NJ
$26/hr new grad, no exp., recently changed jobs $33/hr 1 yr exp.
Only 1 year old RN
Nephrology/dialysis
plus, the 1:1/1:2 ratio can't be beat
Don't be fooled. That 1:1 assignment might keep you running harder than any 1:5 on a peds inpatient unit. I've had shifts when I didn't even have time to think about what I was doing, I just did it.
You're making almost as much as I am after 20 years. Well done!
1. Las Vegas, NV
2. $28.39/hr base pay plus $2.10/hr night diff plus if I work weekends I get paid for 40 after working 36 hours. I haven't yet figured out how much per hour the weekend diff is.
3. No experience - Dec 14 new grad (I took NCLEX 5 weeks after grad and had this job within a week of NCLEX)
4. MedSurg (post op spine and ortho surgery floor)
1. FL
2. 24.04 Base, 2.30-3.25 Night diff. (the differential is still 3-11 &11-7 even though its 12 hr shifts) and 5.00 weekend diff. on top of night diff.
3. 0 experience! New grad, never worked as a Tech and this was the first job I interviewed for! (I did get my ACLS before applying and I believe they supplement for additional certs...not 100% sure though)
4. Telemetry
$24 base in my area was a shock, I wasn't expecting anything over $22 so I was pleasantly surprised. I've completed all the HR stuff and officially start March 2!
