Hello all, I am curious to see what the current pay rate is across the country so we can better prepare ourselves and negotiate better salaries! Please try to keep this poll to any graduates after 2010. Thanks!

1) State

2) Hourly Salary

3) Experience, if any

4) Specialty, if any

Here's mine:

Southern California, Orange County. Started at $37 in Sept new Grad

If you add up how much your employer pays for your medical, dental, vision, long term and short term disability, and maybe 401k in some cases, it probably adds up to more than $10000 a year. So even though you are making $20 something, your benefits are way better than if you were to work in a bar or as a waitress.

This was a good read. The title caught my eye first, then I got depressed reading all the $20.xx rates! ouch! I will have to pay almost $400/month loan repayment when done. I make $20/hr as a waitress right now. It was my 'easy' job while my kids were 'little' and in elementary school. Now it's 'my' time to get a career. I was expecting $30's? Is all this with benefits though? per diem is no benefits but higher rate? Are you all getting pensions? (I WANT a pension!)

Good luck with that. You'd be coming into a very flooded market. Also, taxes are ridiculous here, as is the cost of living.

No problem. When you consider that a decent bedroom house runs over 700K, 40-45 an hour isn't as much as it seems. Some places pay more but are far and few in between.

1. New York (City)

2. $45/hour

3. None (new grad)

4. Pediatric critical care

Wow nice rnmatthew. Ive never seen a new grad end up in picu.

yeah, I didn't know it was possible either - but I'm loving the environment! learn something new each shift...

plus, the 1:1/1:2 ratio can't be beat ;)

Specializes in NICU.

1. Florida (South Florida)

2. $24 base, $5 nights, $3 weekends

3. December 2014 BSN New Grad

4. Neonatal ICU
