I had 75 questions.

Anything I could lay my hands on LOL

My case was different as I moved over from Australia so I was basically on my own. But I did it my way hahahaha and it worked!!

Results were posted on web 2 days after sitting :)

I thought I had failed as I was so sick with Strep Throat (did not know it at the time though) Fever, chills, wanting to puke, sore throat from h*ll etc so I guess I was allowed to feel that way eh?

I did the questions on automatic pilot but thought it was really not that bad. I had never done a CAT exam before so when the computer cut off I just about freaked. A little warning would be nice hahahahahaha.

Yes my first attempt at the NCLEX. I actually did not think it was that bad really. I had sat the 2 exams prior to this through the CGFNS so I was ready. :)

Hey,

1. I had 110 questions

2.I used an ERI Review book that i received from a course i took for a week. The Saunders review book, pharm books, and lab books.

3.My community college offered us a review course that was included in our tuition, it was about an hour drive away but was well worth it.

4. I waited two days because in NC you can check for quick results.

5. Shock because i felt like nothing i studied was on the test, and i thought for sure i was going to have to take it over.

6. First attempt and i passed :)

Hello everyone! I have been a RN for a year now!!

1. I got every single question possible.

2. I had an NCLEX study book with hundreds of questions and the rationales for why an answer was or was not right. I also took a Kaplan review course.

3. My college had us take a few of the ATI tests. I think I only took the ATI test for psych and maternity, then my senior year they had us take a cumulative one and we had to get a certain score or better on it in order to pass.

4. I waited just a few short days!! Here in Ohio you can go to the state board of nursing website and if you passed the NCLEX, your license number will show up within about a week or so. My license came in the mail within about 2 weeks! No paying for results for me :)

5. I cried my whole way home from the testing site (it was an hour drive in pouring down rain). I thought for sure I failed! Since I got every single question possible, I was sure I failed it.

6. I passed it on my first try!

Congrats to all you new grads! Study hard, but don't forget to have fun!! My biggest piece of advice for taking the NCLEX is don't freak yourself out! Take it one question at a time and don't worry about how many questions you have to take. I am proof that you can get every question and still pass.

i took it june of last year. had about 115 questions, and took just under 2 hours. i used the NCLEX "made easy" review book, and told everyone i knew to use it to. wonderful, tons of questions, and put the rationales on the same page. I also used a cd review, but only to get used to looking at a computer. I found out my results that night, and got my license the next day in the mail. This was in WV, maybe it was a slow day!

Hesi -Did good on

2 days

passed first time

1. how many questions did you take on nclex? 75

2. what study materials did you use? did you take a test review course?

i used saunders comprehensive review, 3rd edition, and strategies for success, plus their accompanying cd roms, kaplan 2007-2008 strategies book and cd rom, ati online test bank, kaplan pharm flash cards, and i took the sally lagerquist san francisco review course, plus used her online question bank. (i like to mix it up!)

3. did your son offer any testing (eri, ati, hesi)?

ati

4. how long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting?

three agonizing days. took the nclex on a wed., results appeared on the ca bon website saturday morning.

5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)?

a little relieved that the test ended at 75 questions, and that i was at least done with that phase of the agony. i felt fairly confident that i knew some of the material, and scared because some of it i didn't know for sure/couldn't recall. i knew for a fact that i got one really easy question wrong, and that upset me, i thought to myself "the computer shut off at 75 questions because it realized right quick that i'm an idiot." i guess i am now at a moderate level of neurosis. i'm sure i must have gotten some of the easy ones right, because they got hard pretty quickly.

6. was this your first attempt at nclex?

yes, and thankfully, last.

good luck to those who are waiting and ++++ thoughts for those who are waiting on results!!

1. How many questions did you take on NCLEX? 75

2. What study materials did you use? Did you take a test review course?

I did Kaplan QBank & question trainers for practice of questions- which I highly reccommend b/c they are very similar to NCLEX style. I did Saunders Comprehensive (i did not even go through the whole book for content, I just randomly flipped through the pages and did questions at the back of each chapter). Saunders questions are WAY TOOO EASY compared to the NCLEX... if these are all you do you will be in for a shock when you take the NCLEX. I suggest doing some Kaplan questions. For studying content, I just studied the Kaplan book- much more condensed. The way I saw it was if I studied all of the Saunders... I was cramming at that point (I didn't start studying until 3 1/2 weeks before the test). However, do not pay for the kaplan review course... the strategies they teach did not help! Just purchase a kaplan question book or access to qbank or something.... but that class was terrible.

3. Did your SON offer any testing (ERI, ATI, HESI)?

ERI and got a 952

4. How long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting?

Waited two days... wasn't too bad... I kept myself very busy.

5. What were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)?

I was pretty scared because I felt like some of the questions were very easy so I thought that meant I failed. I was very happy when I left because I knew that at least that part of it was over, but during the two days I'd get depressed every once in a while because I was afraid it wouldn't be a one time thing.

6. Was this your first attempt at NCLEX?

First and last time. I passed!
