I'm still think of getting into the nursing but is still worried that I might be the only guy taking this course. I feel that I will be the only guy out of 50 in my class. When you were in nursing class, how many guys were in there?
I was 1 of 8 males out of 64 in the nursing program and loved it we all passed. Only 1 of the guys had problems in L&D and he had never been around a pregnant woman and never married. Nursing is great and it is for all genders if you are still reading this thred don't worry about being around so many females, I found they can tell just as crued jokes as guys can, and we all brought diff perspectives to clinicals and studying. Worry about tests not genders!

Go for it. In our class this Fall, there are two of us male studes among 26 females. Last semester there were 5 among 40. The ratio is very small and may seem disheartening. But everybody will always find their niches as I'm sure you and I will.
in my ADN program, there are 24 students. There are 7 males (including myself) That would be about 29%. It is a surprisingly large percentage. Does anyone notice that the guys usually congregate somehow??? It doesn't even matter what we're doing we somehow end up all in a group!! lol
BTW, this is my first post!! Hello to all!

we only have 1 guy out of 20. and he is only there because they wouldn't let him graduate last year because he came short 2-3 hours. in my cna classes we had 2 guys out of i think 30. one of the guys is now in the rn program. at the hospitals were we do clinicals, guys are not allowed on the l&d floor. they had to go to the ER or somewhere else during that rotation. i wish there were more guys in the class. we adored our guys. i especially liked them because they weren't dramatic like some of the girls.

I just started recently also. 1st year student. There are 56 in the class. 4 males. 7% .. pretty low. I was expecting at least 8.
